ISTCrew's June 17th WDW Update

I find it very odd that they would put the shirts out for sale and then take them off of the racks. Or is this something that is common for new attractions?

Actually I haven't on my last couple of posts. I usually use them to let people know I'm being sarcastic. Example: If I didn't use one when I said "Plot Hole Alert" when talking about the new Stitch shirt, people would accuse me of bad mouthing SGE. I have found it is much easier to use smilies than to type "Scarasim Implied" afterwards.

OMG that shirt is hilarious! It totally reminded me of the Lilo & Stitch teaser trailers where Stitch crashed those other movies. The Lion King one cracks me up the most. "RAWR!"

Great Update...

GREAT UPDATE

Hope you had a lot of fun in the parks ... but also during the days before relaxing at home ... sounds to me like the perfect time to spend your weeks off: relaxing at home and now and then hoping over to WDW. Which I could to that!

The shirt is great - can't wait to get one myself next time I'm there. Maybe they should produce a "Stitch at WDW souvenir book". It could resemble the normal souvenir book just with Stitch having written commentaries into it next to and over the normal texts and having put photos of himself on the rides over same of the normal photos.

Regarding the question wether it is normal that stuff is taken off the racks again: this happens sometimes. Usually if attraction or event-specific merchandise is delivered to stores and the event has not yet started / the attraction not yet opened the delivery comes with a short letter reading "put up for sale on the XX.XX.2004". CMs are supposed to leave the stuff backstage till the date arrives, but it frequently happens that it is put on the racks anyway, because the letter is placed somewhere else and some CMs sees the packages and thinks it has to be put on the racks already or somehow the letter is just ignored by accident. Once a manager who knows about the letter sees the stuff it is pulled again and brought back to storage.

Yours
Dirk

Does any one know why they started selling the Stitch's great escape merchandise already? The merchandise gives some of the storyline as well too. It doesn't bother me, but I think they should have launched them both together, selling the merchandise before the ride open, they should be selling Alien Encounter memorabilia!

Really good report. I always like reading the updates. I will have to ask for a special update prior to 11/19 this year to prime me for my trip.

Keep up the good work. :D

I don't think they were meant to be put out. It has happened with alot of stuff at WDW, such as pins and things like that.

As for the "ISTCrew Original" thing. They are still "original" because they are mine, but I just find it easier to say "I have an update today" rather than "I have an original today".

I have been wearing my shirt today, getting the word out wherever I went lol.

I also meant to add, that in the shop, they had alot of Stitch merchandise that you can only find in that shop. The tagline for most of it is "the two foot terror".

You never saw the original? It wasn't my favorite, but I was there on the day it closed, and when people say you don't miss something until it's gone...that's so true. I never really cared for AE, but after that day, I have been wanting to go back on it lol. Not as bad as Food Rocks though...That was the best, and whenever the commercial comes on for the "Incredible Edible Egg" , it reminds me of Food Rocks lol.

I'm excited for Stitch too. Not nearly as much as I am for Everest, but if Stitch is decent, it would of met my expectations and I will be happy. However, it ends up to be great, and I wasn't expecting much, I will be VERY happy (same thing happened with PhilharMagic).

Hopefully some of the technical glitches that did happen during the first few months of Philarmagic... (and some that might happen now) wont happen with Stitch.....

I still want that shirt.....
