Well....I had a pretty exciting day today....just read on

At Magic Kingdom
--On Splash Mountain, The hopping Brer Rabbit animatronic wasnt, and hasnt been working....Any insight Chris?
--Winnie the Pooh is open from rehab
--I took a peak through some windows, and some construction walls at Phil, and they sure have ALOT of work to do before opening. In the shop, everything is still boxed up, and no shelves erected....And in the entrance Plaza, paint carts, and maitnenece shelves litter the area
--COP was running smoothly again today.
--Also running smoothly was the new Goofy Jamboree show, Which officially opened yesterday
--Dont know how long this has been going on, but I walked past the MK tipboards at 9:10 this morning, and found most everything in Adventureland, and A few other scattered places, dont open til 10 o clock....
--There testing out a new logo light for the POC movie in Carribbean Plaza. It has the skeleton and cross bones, and rolls across the floor in the entrance plaza to POC.
--Both Geiger's Counter, and the Buzz shop still remain closed.

And on to MGM...
--After finally going back, as I vowed not to until RNRC had a major rehab (I give in easy)..I found that RNRC is doing MUCH better audio, and ride wise. Not one breakdown when I was there. BUT....Loading was EXTREMELY backed up and slow...I have no Idea why that was.
--I ventured over to NY street to get some construction pics. Well...They have the ENTIRE section of the Hunchback theater, and all around the surrounding facade, walled off. The new facade there building is a police department. It is only visible from the stoops across from "Chinese laundry"...Go all the way to the top, and you can see the front of the new facade.
--Also walled off is the entire church area of the backlot tour with blue walls, saying something similar too "Hot set..Pardon our appearence"...I couldnt get a real good veiw.

And things start going downhill from here folks...(no real updates, just my story)

At Epcot...
I arrived at about 3 o clock, and walked from MGM to Epcot, so I went through International Gateway. Well, two steps from the gate, it starts pouring, so I ran over to TT and got under the big cover thing. After it rained, I went and waited by MS....

So after about a half hour of waiting, I wasnt feeling all to well....Keep in mind, I was standing at the front of the wall, crowded in by people. I put my head on the wall, Lifted it back up, opened my eyes, and I couldnt see..I tapped the guy next to me and asked him if he would help me over to the MS flower bed so I can sit.....Little did I know, I was blacking out. I felt real dizzy, and a bunch of people crowded around....Let me tell you, they were some of the nicest people I have ever met. The guy's wife was a paramedic, and she checked my pulse. I was so dizzy, but I was getting my vision back by this point. They called the Park paramedics, and Iwaited til they came. They people gave me some water, and REALLY helped me (I cant thank them enough)...The paramedics arrived, took my blood pressure, took some blood from my finger, and put ice on my neck...Some MS castmembers came out to help me also, and took my name, address, age, all of that. I gave one of the Cm's my dad's name and property location, and they called him. Well after talking to the paramedics, and Kenan (he was there too, but he poped up after the whole episode, so dude, Thanks for acting concerned, sorry I couldnt get everything out right there) Anyway, my dad came walking out of the MS entrance, and came through the wall to get me, while im sitting in a wheelchair. I got wheeled to where my dad parked (backstage)...and Went home..Im feeling much better now though.
Again, for the people who helped me, I thank you SO much.

Anyway, No pics this time, as im typing this from my moms work laptop, and My new computer is ordered, and should be here soon..BUT....Im going on Vacation next week so there will be no updates...sorry guys, but I need a break lol...Anyway, to all my IM peeps, I'll be on soon.

That does it for this edition, see ya at the park.

Something akin to what happend to you (though very much milder) happened to me one stifling, hot and humid summer day many years ago when I had (unwisely, it seems) chosen to consume a bottle of Diet Pepsi and a roll of Callard & Bowser Chocolate English Toffees for lunch. ;):animwink:

Thanks for the update...BTW Does anyone know why on earth they decided to do the facade of a police station? Does this have any connection with the motor stunt show (like a police chase or something)...or do they have some other plans for this facade...its just interesting that its a police station.

So sorry you weren't feeling well. I'm glad they were all able to help you. My son used to get heat stroke alot and we learned quickly how to avoid it. Be careful running around. Have a nice vacation. But hmmmm......one does wonder where you'd go on vacation with DIsney outside your door.....LOL:lol:

Amigo, just some friendly advice for you and everyone else - Water, Water, Water. If you're in 90 degree+ heat, you need a drink. Youre not thristy? Tough, you need a drink. Basically, if you arent constantly taking in fluids, you might end up seriously dehydrated.

Glad to know you ended up okay. Sonds to me like textbook heat exaustion. If you're thirsty, it's already too late - youre already dehydrated.

I got heat exhaustion once. I was on crutches and was in a cast on my right leg and it was about 95 outside and my mum was being evil-mean. I was super thirsty and she wouldn't let me go and get something to drink. She kept yelling at me to stop dragging my feet and I suddenly just collapsed and blacked out. I don't think she was too happy with herself after that.

dude, you had me worried there for a bit. i didnt know what was going on. the paramedic asked me what i wanted and i just shooked my head. then i went to go sit down, then when i asked you what was up, and the security guy saw me, he said i can come by you. i hope you feeling better. you shoulda kept your self hydrated. i may have been out there sooner, but i was in my car trying to kill time a bit, but then i decided to check MS out, so i came by there.

The hopping Brer Rabbit has been down for at least 2 weeks. It takes maintinence a long time to fix the animatronics. They're probably short on money too. That one rabbit cost 1.3 million to make. I guess if something major is wrong with it it could cost alot to fix. Also take notice to the Brer Rabbit at "Leaving Home". He just waves but his mouth doesn't move. That one has been broken for a few weeks too and they have a temporary animatronic in its place until it's fixed.

Sorry to hear about your time at Epcot. And any time you have any Splash questions feel free to drop me a line.

I have a question, can you explain as technically as you like, exactly what the process each log goes through bfore the final drop, ie locking into some track, some type of monitoring, and at what point the log in front of you has to be before you can go over the top? I love that ride, so whatever you know will help!

You cannot have more than two logs on the lift hill at any given time, or the ride will shut down, so basically the system monitors where the logs are, and once the 2nd log in front of you goes over the drop, the system lets you start up the lift hill. Generally, the log in front of you would be around Brer Fox's cave at this point.

Regardless, I do hope you feel better ISTCrew...I think this is why Disney decided to make its drinking fountains talk--attract more drinkers! Walking from MGM to Epcot (in bare feet, no less) in the 90º heat w/o staying hydrated, then skipping through World Showcase to SPACE...well, at least you got your exercise in for the day! Enjoy your vacation from the vacation capital of the world, bud!
