ISTCrew's "Don't Get Used to It" Universal Update for Sep/19/2004

Well the title says it all. I never really wanted to start to do Universal updates but I was there today and found some new stuff, so I figured What the heck

So lets get started-

--A new recorded speil was added on the Mummy. Just as you are pulling out of the station, a voice comes on the speakers (which sounds ALOT like the bad accent lady from the Mission: Space preshow) telling you the basic rules (head on headrest etc...)

--JAWS was closed for refurbishing today. I have no idea how long it will be closed for.

--As posted in Nemo's Update, a real wait time sign and awning were put up in front of Back to the Future, although it was not working. Before, it was a small folding sign stating the wait time.

--A whole bunch of new advertisements were put on the soundstages around the park. Alot of them advertising the new NBC fall season, with shows like LAX and Joey.

--At IOA, the "Rocky and Bullwinkle - Wassamatta U" shop has been closed. All the merchandise relocated to another shop, and the windows covered with posters.

I was able to find out that tickets to HHN for Annual Passholders are $32.75 for any night. A frequent fear pass with an AP discount will come to $47.75.

And the parks were dead today. The longest wait I had was to get a new Annual Pass sleeve to hold my pass in. Spiderman/Mummy/MIB/Hulk/DD/Shrek/Jimmy/ and Doctor Doom were all no more than 10 minutes. Doctor Doom had only one tower running, and Mummy only one side open. Each one of the dragon coasters were only running one train.

And that's pretty much it for ISTCrew's first and last Universal update

(eh, who knows. There may be more ;) )

Didn't Wassamatta U close like a year and a half ago for rehab?

Oh well. The wait times are no surprise. Especially at IoA. The only ride I have ever seen with over a hour wait was Spiderman and I went on it once when it said 90 minutes and it was I think actually a 30-40 minute wait. I timed it but I don't remember, but I did steal the 3D-glasses. Oh, some of my friends cme back from the Bandtrip with 3D glasses from every attraction with them at both Universal and WDW.

Um, the store was open about a month ago and it was getting a paint job. It has been open for awhile now, but it looks like it is closed for good.

And seriously, what are you going to do with the 3-D glasses? Where I'm from, we call that stealing.

I know it is stealing. But I did mine by accident. I was planning on stealing them from Spiderman but I decided not to but I ended up anyway. And the employees there don't care. I was wearing them for the rest of the day.

I was there yesterday too. I did Mummy and Men in Black about 20 times each. It was in fact dead. We went on some rides all by ourselves. Oh how I love September...

I did MIB twice. The Mummy like 10 or 12 times. I actually used the express pass this time, because I always wondered how the express folk got up to the other side. It was SO scary to walk through there by myself.

I did almost everything at each of the parks (minus the water rides).

Huge contrast, end of July and both parks were absolutely heaving miles more than Disney. At one point me and my brother walked round looking for decent attractions, all of which had at least 1 and a half hours wait, so we went to the cheesecake factory instead!
