It's been awhile, but here I am with another update. I had a fun little adventure today. I visited all 4 parks and a few resorts, so here are the updates:

Magic Kingdom News

~Here are a few photos of a few more safety measures on Splash Mountain. The first photo is of the wooden wall that was added to the side of the flume. The picture below that is of the new safety sign in the loading station. Look at the words in the red box. How often have you seen a safety precaution like that?

~Stitch's Great Escape is still not even mentioned on the map.

~Construction walls were up around the MK main entrance, and parts of the TTC.

Epcot News

~KIDCOT stations are now going to be appearing in Future World. The only one for now is in the Test Track gift shop, but more will be showing up soon. As of now, you get a lanyard with a card and you can add different decorations to the bottom of the card.

~I finally went and saw Turtle Talk. I was really impressed by it.

~I went into the new Figment meet and greet area. I was there late afternoon, so nobody else was there. I entered the building and walked around a few corners. I almost $@^% myself when I saw Figment there. It scared me ALOT, since he was tucked away in a corner. Here is the picture I took with him.

Disney/MGM News

~The Splash statue has been fixed.

~Notice anything missing?

~Stand By, Fastpass Distribution, and Fastpass Return signs are up for Lights Motors Action. Fastpass machines have also been installed.

~A few green table/benches near The Backlot Tour have been removed.

~A sign was added in front of the Jojo's circus trailer, stating times when Jojo and Goliath would be there.

~A new "Tri City Diner" popcorn stall has been added on NY Street.

Animal Kingdom News

~Construction walls were up around some parts of the AK entrance.

~The entertainment boat (the boat that plays music that comes out by Everest and floats around Discovery River) now plays Christmas music.

Resort News

~The resorts now have SGE fliers on their front desks. They are scratch and sniff on the front (I wont give it away) and on the back is an alien writing decoder that you can take into the attraction and decode the symbols on the walls.

~Walt Disney World is now using new busses. They are much wider and much more spacious. While it seems some seating was lost, it's much easier for handicapped guests to get on and off the bus. Here are some pictures. Notice the difference of the fronts of the busses. Oh yea, how could I forget. The new busses have...PADDED SEATS!

Thanks for the update.

What's the deal with the wall at Splash Mountain? Maybe it looks better in person.
It looks odd....very odd. Before they put it up they had a CM sitting there. Guess they had too many people trying to get out of the log.

Great update Patrick, it's been too long. :sohappy:

Well I guess the wall is better than a CM sitting there. I have never been a fan of having CM's visible at various points on the ride (A la Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls). When the attraction begins, I don't want anything to take my attention away from the experience. Maybe I'm too "old school" with that philosophy. I don't know.

DO NOT SPEAK OF THAT RIDE! :fork:

Yes, I am a huge Universal fan, but if there's one ride I hate it's that one. Yeah, the drop is nice but NOTHING ELSE. The theming is crap.

Ok, let's get back on topic....

Oh man. I love Ripsaw Falls. I think the jokes are pretty darn funny and I love the queue. Actually I like Ripsaw Falls better than any ride over at USF (And yes that includes ROTM). Oh well.

Now I must apologize for the thread drift.

1stCrew, Thanks so much for all your up-dates! We can only go to WDW once every three years so your up-dates are the next best thing to being there (truely). Between you and Grizz who needs those other sites to give us our WDW fix. Thanks again and Happy Holidays! :xmas:

All of the ticket booths at each park and the TTC had construction walls up. Don't take this for fact, but I'm thinking we're going to see credit card based ticket machines. Maybe a Fast Pass for the ticket booth itself? Or maybe some sort of special 50th shin-dig? The far left TTC construction wall is located next to a planter/bench. I'll try to sneak a peek the next time I park at MK (or unless anyone else of tall stature wants to).

Chicken Little's hands were up on the 10th. The only thing I could think would happen to bring them down was the very rainy/windy conditions. Sure is cold right now!

Speaking of which, a really bad place to be stuck in the rain is at the end of New York Street next to the entrance to Lights Motors Action. Had to wait in the always empty restroom. Had fun making music with the sensors for the faucets. I would go for the toilets BUT it's so hard to create a decent rendition of Dukas' Sorceror's Apprentice running in and out of the stalls.

The one at TTC and MGM had them Dec 4th.... (and the gates at MK had them tooo....)

I think they are working on extress ticket machines like what universal has... except better.... (or FPing the ticket booths....)
