If that were true, then why does the sign for M:S's singles line often say it's only a 5 minute wait? If the singles line actually reached that sign it would be much longer than 5.

I think either they're relying on FLIK too much, or they just suck at estimating wait times.

I can tell you that many people who are "in charge" of the waits, IE managers/coordinators have little idea about what the wait time should be. The managers do not regularly work the attractions, the coordinators probably have a better idea, but even then they are usually coordinators, not attractions hosts. Any attractions host that pays any attention to his/her job can tell you what the wait time is from any given point in the line. At It's Tough to be a Bug if only the main queue is open and the line is to the marquee the wait is about 25 minutes. If the queue is fully open, which includes two extended queue areas, then the wait is about 45-50 minutes. All of this is contingent upon everything else going smoothly. If you throw in a lot of fastpass guests during any of these times, then the wait time increases dramatically. One day recently there was a day when the park was near capacity and everyone was getting fastpasses and we had to run several mostly fastpass shows. It was a fun day especially since all the FLIK cards that were coming down took forever and people that were handing them out would not do it right.....ahhh the good old days.

But from the perspective of the higher ups it is much better to post a longer wait time and have it not be as long than the reverse happening. I mean how upset are we when the wait time is like twice as long as is posted?

But personally I think that we rely on a technology that is not perfect and not really designed for each individual attraction, because after all most every attraction runs differently. i say, know how many people your queue holds, know how many people you can get through your attraction in each hour (2140 at TTBAB if all goes according to plan, 5 shows in that hour), then you can make an educated guess to what the wait time should be. I mean this is simple. Its basically how it was done before all this crazy technology.

So anyway, just some thoughts that I have and thought I would share. Its sorta like how Rob says in his signature, something about as we become more efficeint it actually worsens the situation. Not a direct quote, just my interpretation/made up words.
anyway, im done.

When it says 5 minutes, the ride is walk-on. As short as the single rider line is, if it were moving at the walk-on pace, it would take five minutes to get from the entrance to the briefing room. It takes about 1 minute at those times. Likewise, at Test Track, when the stand by line extends way out beyond the marquee, the posted wait time begins when you pass under the posted wait time sign. Thus, when they say there is a two hour wait for Test Track, it is taken to mean "two hours after you pass under the wait time sign, you will board"

OOO...I got two more updates for you guys...

--The Tom Joyner reunion thing is mad big....Everytime I turned around, I saw someone with the lanyard on. Not just lanyards, they had badges, pins, and even poncho's made for this thing. I saw no one famous, but I saw aolt of there family members I suppose

--Also, I hadent been to DTD in forever, so when we took the bus from AKL to DTD, we passed the new fire station they were building over the summer. Its kind of a cool building. Its got a giant fireman hat out front, and a big hose going all around the building.

ok, thats it:lol:

Weather

I'm thinking Florida is in for it....

Why? Mainly because we haven't gotten that much rain lately. Now we've got a front moving in from the south, a hurricane (Which will miss us) to our east, but that will still give us some rain. Not to metion, sometime within the next three days we should be getting something like 60% chance of rain, we're under flood watches......Not a good time to be here at Disney, even though it might not be as bad....

Oh, yes, Im new here. And ISTC Crew, don't worry, you only have about one-hundred and fifty something more times to get close to me on the X-2 FFM (Im at 218, not that Im bragging).

Also, if anyone has any audio (Other than the one posted), from the attraction, can you possibly contact me with it, thanks.

Yeah, um, just how in the blue h*** did you manage to get your head stuck in the wall? And what wall are you talking about as well?

On the grander scale, I actually have close too 600 hundred (No joking). See since I work there at ISTC, we got to do a lot of the testing, and when I wasnt working, I was there. But we decided to start keeping offical track when it offcially opened so Im only at 218. But Im out there every other day to goof off and I normally, on a good day, rack in about thirty flights, so my numbers will be real high.

But hey, like you said, your in school and you cant get out there like me so.....Whatever.

I think the story is in the July 19'th (ish) update...Search me, and you'll see...I got a pik of it in my album, and if you work at MS, you'll most def. know who I am....You confused me with you saying you working at ISTC, so, I dunno...anyway, if you cant find it, lemme know, I'll look for it for you

I remember one of my buddies talkin about you but I never saw you there personally because I dont work the summer season.

Im one of the few that really get into character, since Im always out there working or not, we've started this speel that Im the commander of the "Orion" X-2 and since Im there at ISTC, Im not flying any missions at that time. So I sometimes stay in character even when I'm not working. Heck, I've even got the leather Commander jacket (You might have seen it, cept its a CM jacket, same one as in the store its just a CM jacket, but I dont know what the difference is, anyways). So if for some reason, your looking for me, rain or shine, 40 degrees (Which is doubtful because we Floridians evacuate north when it drops below 80) or 95 degrees, you'll see me in that jacket.

I ran out to MS for an hour or two, I was bored and didn't have one thing to do.

Anyways, I noticed something about Mission: SPACE RACE. What it was is that Team Orion won the three times I watched it (It wasnt back to back to back). Is it me, or does it seem this is rigged? I played it once, I was on Orion and we won.

This might be an old subject but it got me to thinking when I saw it today.

Trition acutally won? Wow, I mean, I've stopped to watch that thing numerous times when I go on break or when Im just passing through to ride again, and I always see Orion winning, oh well, I guess Trition gets a little bit better of a chance of winning like snowball has a chance in h***.
