Islands of Adventure - NEW Attraction

I read the site.
I think he's saying that the crane is in the same position as before, implying that it will be a similar build.
Not knowing anything about how construction is done generally, I can't say whether you can infer anything about the nature of a construction project from where they put the crane.

A seuss landing expansion is necessary! But not for the grinch. It was a great movie but too dated to build a new attraction based on it. We need a Lorax dark ride that uses a special ride system to make it stand out. Maybe similar to Pooh's Hunny Hunt in Tokyo? The entrance could be a small part of thew town in the movie! In my opinion all of "The Lost Continent" area should be re themed.

Universal has so few dark rides, I don't think the ride system would need to be special at all.
What the park really needs is some proper animatronics. They wouldn't even need to be that nice, really.

I think you're right about focusing on the Lorax, though. The story, movie version, book, or a hybrid between the two lends itself to an attraction rather well.
Extra points awarded if they use the "burning Rome" scent at the proper time.

Despite their use of Jim Carrey's Grinch in the seasonal Grinchmas shows (which still works fine,) I doubt they would base a permanent Seuss Landing attraction on anything other than the books. And if that's considered dated, well, then so is everything else in the land. The Grinch is right up there with the Cat in the Hat as the most well known Seuss characters.

Now that I think about it, (and I know a lot of you won't agree with me on this) IOA doesn't have a motion simulator ride! Obviously it has Spiderman which is basically an upgrade but a motion simulator could fit in perfectly with dr.seuss!

"The Wonderfully Wacky World of Dr Seuss" it could be called. Similar to the classic Hanna Barbera ride, you could journey through the most popular books created by Dr Seuss. Anyways it's just an idea :)

I'd say a Lorax dark ride is likely given the 210 million dollars that movie grossed domestically. It was an enormous hit for Universal just like Despicable Me and we all know what happened after that movie performed well.

it is Screamscape.... They have ZERO credibility... Quoting them is like quoting Fox News as a legit news sourse LOL...

A hell of a lot more real news than CNN lately. CNN has been the butt of every late night show for two weeks...reporting nothing they will go live to anywhere and tell nothing news related "oh we just saw a police car". Ok great and the news is?

Or the one I like best the AR-15 shotgun.....it's sort of like a unicorn as in mythical creature that's not real yet it was being talked about extensively as a real item.

I read them all and pick and choose using common sense. I tend to see some well versed story's over at CNN but they will completely ignore some issues that fox may report and vice versa.

And screamscape is not a true news site there's no credibility issue because EVERYWHERE ON THE SITE it clearly states it is all rumor speculation based. There are tiny portions of that site that are labeled fact. (Ride closures) it is great to peek at to see the latest rumors than do your OWN investigation if you feel the need.

A motion simulator you are referring to is obsolete and can be found at hole in the wall amusement sites now. There's no reason to build something obsolete when you have things like Spider-Man that are true motion with cinematic simulation ect. The only up side of the traditional single arm enclosed ride system simulator is space usage.

I honestly feel with a little bit of thought and money and a powerful mind and love for creation that they could add in The grinch. You could make the villages and Xmas tree in the center and really do a cool dark ride with the theme of how the grinch stole Xmas based on the Jim Carrey character. Cast be be dressed as who's and have a new weird Whoville diner to eat at. That would enhance and tie the whole Dr Seusse land toghether. That is what I feel is missing based IMHO.

You bumped a thread that's over a year old just to rant about CNN?

I would absolutely love an attraction like this. It would need to have a Jim Carrey as Grinch animatronic or I will be severely disappointed.
:jawdrop: Jim Carrey's Grinch is NOT the REAL Grinch! That's like Putting Mike Myers in the Cat in the Hat-sacrilege!!!! To keep it real, Suessland needs to stay with Suess :) (I DO love Jim Carrey as the Grinch- fantastic job!)
