No doubt the original version was monumentally better than the current version. Not only was it less cheesy, the grand finale was ten times better. Now, the finale is completely spoiled when you enter the third chamber and the room disappears to show the main stage. The original animations must still exist so I see no reason why they couldn't switch it back. I can't imagine the current version polls better. Alas, it's been over a decade since they changed the show so I doubt they will ever revert back to the old programming. They are more likely to just replace it. It's sad, really.
Yes, yes, yes.
The original finale included an illusion that was on par with the best of Copperfield illusions. I remember the first time that I experienced the show. To be standing in the middle of a huge show arena, and then suddenly find myself standing back in the same small room in which we started, was nothing short of astonishing. I had never seen or heard of anything like that before. Truly a bit of creative genius.
Now the first chamber room is decorated with what look like the leftover stock of what didn't sell from the fly by night halloween costume shops. Who in the world thought that it would be a good idea for the guests to walk from a cheaply decorated chamber, into an almost identical, undecorated chamber? I mean, why?

So not only do the chambers not match, but the illusion (of magically transporting back to the starting point) is completely defeated. Again, why?
I couldn't begin to imagine how it must feel to be the genius that created the original show concept, and then have to see it completely destroyed like this. This despicable act is on par with reburbing the Haunted Mansion to include The Wiggles, or, releasing a fourth Indiana Jones movie that includes the presence of aliens...
If they
really had to change this show, they could have at least created a "hybrid" version. Sure, Taylor can be the tour guide. That makes sense. I can accept that. But don't throw overstock Mummy props into the first chamber, and at least start the main show with the second chamber in the raised position. As for the main show film, which consistently gets a good laugh from the audience, there are kids doing more convincing video work in their garage with their laptos. Let's hire them. Just give them $500 for a much better video presentation.
