Islands of Adventure - NEW Attraction

i personally feel like the biggest broken part of an attraction in all of orlando is not the yeti but the missing water tunnel effect. that blew people away who werent even interested in the show

As Legend said, it's been working since Potter opened.

And it was never broken. It was just off.

The water vortex being turned off was an unfortunate cost saving measure. It's one of the most expensive effects in the entire resort. With Potter currently raking in the money, I doubt you'll see another move like that.

let me guess you get a tingle up your leg when the messiah speaks?

What? I don't even... o_O

my mistake. i hardly got to IOA anymore because spiderman is the only ride i can fit into (potter) or not get a headache (hulk, dragons) or not get wet (dudley, popeye, JP)

when I have gone and done posiedon its been off. most recently January. i must have really bad luck

Not going on JP because you get wet is like never going on Jaws in case you got burned....

I've gotten wetter from the splash back of my own pee than I ever have on JP.... Which is a good thing IMO

On JP you get plenty wet - there is no denying this. As wet as the rapids ride? No. Wet many people wear ponchos? Yup.

It also depends on where you sit (and I believe they can also adjust the splash for cooler times of the year, so that may affect it as well). I know I've come off with barely a drop, and then another day I came off with a few dry patches, but refreshingly wet.

I get marginally wetter than splash mountain... I HATE getting soaked... I refuse to ride Dudley or Popeye as a result now but I will ride JP all day long.

I still have only done Popeye once, and Dudley twice. Love both, they're great rides, but I just don't enjoy getting very wet. This is also why I typically avoid Splash Mt. as well.

I loved it when it had the original storyline where your Tour Guide was a feeble old man who was actually Zeus in disguise and Poseidon was a villain voiced by Jeremy Irons. None of this Darkenon crap (seriously, who came up with that name?)
The word at the time was that the show was changed because guests were confused that Poseidon was the villain. I never quite understood that explanation. I mean, the name of the attraction was Poseidon's Fury after all. No doubt the original version was monumentally better than the current version. Not only was it less cheesy, the grand finale was ten times better. Now, the finale is completely spoiled when you enter the third chamber and the room disappears to show the main stage. The original animations must still exist so I see no reason why they couldn't switch it back. I can't imagine the current version polls better. Alas, it's been over a decade since they changed the show so I doubt they will ever revert back to the old programming. They are more likely to just replace it. It's sad, really.

I've only seen the newer version and thought, like most people probably do, that the finale was really lame and super cheesy. I'm very curious about the original version and the illusion it used, are there links to the original anywhere?

Didn't say I have never gone on it. I am a local and go to UNI 2-5 times a month (mostly for wrestling and see friends that work there)

to me it is not worth getting wet and walking around with wet shoes. I will make the exception for when it is dark out and the sun has set. That ride becomes all types of awesome at night. plus at night usually ready to leave right after.

So personally I just hate walking around wet. I hate having to carry around a change of clothes and always having to stop at a locker. So I avoid water rides but will make exceptions

Yes, yes, yes.

The original finale included an illusion that was on par with the best of Copperfield illusions. I remember the first time that I experienced the show. To be standing in the middle of a huge show arena, and then suddenly find myself standing back in the same small room in which we started, was nothing short of astonishing. I had never seen or heard of anything like that before. Truly a bit of creative genius.

Now the first chamber room is decorated with what look like the leftover stock of what didn't sell from the fly by night halloween costume shops. Who in the world thought that it would be a good idea for the guests to walk from a cheaply decorated chamber, into an almost identical, undecorated chamber? I mean, why? o_O So not only do the chambers not match, but the illusion (of magically transporting back to the starting point) is completely defeated. Again, why? o_O

I couldn't begin to imagine how it must feel to be the genius that created the original show concept, and then have to see it completely destroyed like this. This despicable act is on par with reburbing the Haunted Mansion to include The Wiggles, or, releasing a fourth Indiana Jones movie that includes the presence of aliens...

If they really had to change this show, they could have at least created a "hybrid" version. Sure, Taylor can be the tour guide. That makes sense. I can accept that. But don't throw overstock Mummy props into the first chamber, and at least start the main show with the second chamber in the raised position. As for the main show film, which consistently gets a good laugh from the audience, there are kids doing more convincing video work in their garage with their laptos. Let's hire them. Just give them $500 for a much better video presentation. :(

He said SS44 would be Transformers. Then he said it wouldn't be. Now he's back to saying it will be.

He pointed to a crane as being his evidence that is was Transformers.. Nevermind everything else that pointed toward it... nope, the crane is the proof... Lance had little credibility before this... Now, he has none...
