Is WDW Security Serious?

Let me correct you: Some security is a joke, because it's designed to simply be a deterrent.

The "real" security is in the cameras (literally hundreds throughout the parks) and the unmarked security you can't see. It's also in the procedures in place if something were to happen.

Could something bad happen? Of course...it's like a city there. Just don't think the only security measures in place are what you can easily see. Those are just the minor deterrents.

Yes, but we were talking weapons here, not drugs. There is a difference if nothing more than flexibility. The only way that would work were if someone were to detonate something while it was still inside them and the bigger the get, the messier it would end up, but, most of the damage would be to the carrier. Condoms will not cover everything.

If it were surgically implanted into the person then yes, the mule would need to detonate themselves to do anything and it would certainly mute a bit of the explosive impact especially since the standard terrorist bombs require nails or other metal bits to be around the bomb to act as shrapnel so I'm not sure how deadly chunks of fat would be vs pieces of metal in a standard bomb.

As for the ingested method, that would be very effective in getting things into the park the only downside to it is that you would have to re construct the various small components into a viable device once you barfed them or otherwise expelled them from the person... That would take time and a private working area (such as a bathroom)...

Point is that if a terrorist wanted to get things into a park nothing is going to stop them even if you went to the extreme of forcing people to enter your park completely nude.... You could even require everyone entering the park to be given a full body xray and it wouldn't allow you to keep out the determined terrorist. In the end when you realize you can't stop the nut job with an agenda from wrecking havoc your best option is simple accept that the threat is always there and you can then either live with the threat and go on about your business or move to the middle of nowhere and live as a hermit.... I prefer to just go about my business because the odds of being a victim of a terrorist attack are still insanely small compared to other risks that I face every day.

Instead of getting all wrapped up in the extremes of how they might get it, we can end all discussion simply by realizing that there are around 100+ miles of perimeter around WDW. Much of it is impossible to watch. All they really have to do is walk onto the property, get to the area that they target and "good night nurse". However, since the discussion is about the visible and background security, the method of a really organized group would not be through the main gate without the ability to carry some dangerous thing that is impossible to discover. That I don't see happening.

Studies also show that the more dense the crowd that less overall damage that is done. Oh, yes, a lot would be killed but their deaths would serve to protect others. Years ago in Israel they had a problem with people getting on board with body bombs and blowing up the buses. It was wondered how they could get bus drivers for such a dangerous job. Turns out very few drivers were seriously injured because of the humanity between him/her and the bombs. If bus bombing still exists it is very few. Actually 9/11 was one of the most damaging of just about any attempt at terror in history. A captive audience of thousands of people that had no escape. Not so with Disney. Not only would it be not very effective it was also create a worldwide recoil that none of them would likely survive. The threat still exists by small unorganized groups but, it isn't really huge and the security that is now in place is a fairly good deterrent. Not foolproof, but, about as good as that type of venue can get.
