Is This Still Used?

I am doing a paper on WDW, and in a WDW trivia book, I read the following...

A recording of a bird in distress is played (quietly) in Future World at Epcot, to keep other birds out of FW.

If this is still used, then WHY ISN'T THERE 5,000 of these recordings at MK? I have noticed that during bird season, the MK seems to be hit harder than any other park...?

Yes it can still be heard around the electric umbrella in FW.

Because it doesn't work. Birds aren't stupid. They quickly learn that it is a recording and they then go back to business as usual.

i don't know...
most birds stay away from scarecrows, which never move, and wooden owls.

Those are visual targets, not audible targets. Visual deterrents also fail under many circumstances as well, but generally, you are right about scarecrows.

They also play a distressed bird sound at the TTA entrance of Space Mountain. You have to be pretty (un)lucky to hear it, though.

I've heard it! They also play the sound of a hawk in that mix. Good ear MrNonacho! :)

Eh, would that happen to be the same bird noise that is similar to the ones played outside the Costco Warehouse or SAMS Club that tries to keep birds away from the building?

I like it when seagulls swoop in and steal a hot dog from an unsuspecting young child.

While it is humerous to watch, I saw one land on a child's (maybe 2 years old) head and eat his fries.....

my little girl would probably chase the gull and try to feed him. she's adores our dog and I swear she tries to sneak him food.
