Is this annoying to request?

We just made our final payment for our trip in Feb at All star movies.:sohappy:
I really didnt think we would be able to go back so soon, but I was able to scrounge up the money! :ROFLOL:

Last time we went (in Aug) I requested, via my travel agent, that we have a bottom floor room. We were given a top floor room and after begging the manager to find something else, we were given a bottom floor room. It is imperative that we have a bottom floor room because my 2 year old son is CRAZY and heights scare me with him. Should I call the hotel a week before we go to request again? Is this annoying? I dont want to be annoying, I just really need a bottom floor room! Please help!

I would request again and tell them it is for safety reasons for your son..not sure that would work but it may.

I always ask for bottom floor and I always get it..they can not always guarantee it though.

Good Luck!

I don't think it would be annoying. If you explain your reason I'm sure they will be as accomadating as possible.

Have fun on your trip.

I would ask and ask again! You aren't being annoying if you are worried about the well being of your son!

I hope that your trip is a great one!!!

You should definitely ask, and ask repeatedly. If it's for your son for safety reasons. Disney, even more than other companies, goes above and beyond to accomodate those with special requests.

They might find it a bit annoying but still it's your trip and you're just thinking about the well being of your son, so just explain to them the problem and they might be able to sort something out for you.

Please call them to confirm that you will get a ground floor room. BTW all 2 year olds are CRAZY! It's great you have thought about this and are willing to put yourself out there to be sure your kid is safe.:)

Since no one else has mentioned a couple of things, I will... the resorts no longer accept phone calls or faxes with room requests. All requests go through DRC. (407 WDisney), or your travel agent, if you used one. If you call the resort directly, your call will be transferred to DRC, where they will note the request on your reservation.

Also, a request is just that... a request. Not a guarantee. There are many, many crazy 2 year olds at WDW at any given time (I am the Mom of one, myself :animwink:), and if they all "had to have" a ground floor room, it would be tough to accomodate everyone.

But as many others have already said, Disney will do their best to grant your request, so don't be shy about asking!!

Mousefan is correct. :)

Just be sure that the request is on your reservation prior to arrival and when you check-in you can remind them of your requests. Do keep in mind though that they can not guarantee requests, but do their best to grant them.

Have a great time!!!!

I don't think it's an annoying request because it's being made to protect your son. I don't blame you for being concerned and I think most 2 year old boys are a little "crazy". I have the same fear about my 6 year old son, he is wild and loves to climb everything. Friends of ours who have older children (same as DD who is 11), have been trying to talk us into taking a cruise. They think it would be great a whole group of us with our kids but, my son is the youngest and I am terrified of him climbing on the ship's railing and becoming fish bait!

Don't bother trying to call the resort directly. Your call will be routed to a call center and will be handled there and not at the resort's front desk. Just make sure the request is on your reservation.

Such a request isn't annoying at all, whether it's for an important reason or not.

If you want to be annoying, request: a ground floor room in a building close to the bus stop, AND the room's number must be divisible by 4 (but if it ends in a zero that's OK, too!) AND the room must NOT face south unless that southern exposure will provide a view of fireworks.:ROFLOL:

When we went in August we had 10 pref. rooms at Movies. It took the front desk 3 tries to get our rooms right. We started out in non-pref. section even though we paid pref. rates. Then they couldn't get us all together, but the third time was the charm. We spent roughly $30,000 on this trip and having our rooms in the same section in the pref. rooms we paid for was all we wanted. They got it right, but we did have to stay on top of things. Needless to say we tipped the baggage delivery man WELL!
My point is, don't be afraid to ask and ask again. The worst they can say is "no". But if you don't ask you'll never know.

I went on the Disney cruise with my two year old recently, and I was extremely nervous the entire time about him climbing and falling overboard. We had a room with a veranda and there were chairs on it. I was ok with him being on the verandah, because there's plexiglass on the railing. And I was ok with him sitting in the chairs, but the second he would try to stand on the chairs, I would say, "That's it! We're going inside!" Fortunately, the door to the verandah had a very high lock on it, so he could never unlock it himself.

Oh, and to answer the original poster's question, no it's not annoying at all. Definitely ask for the ground floor room if you feel it's safer.
