Is this an insane plan?

Through some weird and cool circumstances, my family and I are gonna be able to go to Magic Kingdom for just 1 day in December. We found out that the day we're going just happens to be a MVMC party date and since that's the only day we'll be able to go the park and we want to get the most out of our trip, we decided to get tickets to the party. So we'll basically be at the park from when the it opens to pretty much almost midnight. Are we crazy??? Can we pull it off without burning out early? Any suggestions on how to not die before the party ends?? o_O

Just take your time. We usually do the parks open to close and as long as you take plenty of breaks to sit down and rest for a few minutes. Also plan on a sit down meal mid day which is a perfect way to rest, take your time, and eat.

We did One park day at Disney last year.. started at Animal Kingdom, then Hollywood Studios, ended at MVMCP, until almost an hour after closing time.

Myself and my 7 year old we’re both fine. He was tired at the end of the night, but wouldn’t have changed it.

You will be so hyped that you probably will think the day went fast. Just take time to sit and relax a different points of the day. :)

Did you already buy a 1 day ticket for the actual morning of the MK day, independent of the Xmas party?
I ask because it seems like for the Halloween Party, they're letting event ticket holders enter the park at 2pm versus 5pm. Didn't know if they'd be doing the same thing for the Xmas Party but if they are, maybe it'd make more sense, and save a lot of money, to NOT go to MK in the morning, but maybe a character meal at a monorail resort, then resort hop to check out decorations around the MK resorts via monorail and ferry, THEN go to the party.
If you already bought the regular MK tickets as well as the Xmas Party tickets...then go for it.

I can't say I'd want to follow that kind of schedule over multiple days, but just one? No problem, if you're tired suck it up and power through.

Take advantage of some longer sit-down attractions like Phillharmagic and the Tiki Room to conserve energy.

Absolutely do both MK for the day and the party at night. The alternative of NOT doing both is a much worse decision. If you're relatively healthy then it shouldn't be a problem. What'll knock you out is not staying hydrated so be sure to drink water throughout the day. Pretend you're 8 years old and have a great time!

Weve done exactly that.... early morning entry, stay for the event, have fun all hours until they shut the park down. You just have to pace yourself, realize that you have plenty of time to do things, plan out your evening well enough for you to get everything in that you want to do. If you start to get tired... take a break, hang out in a quiet area of the park, or do some of the relaxing things that are quieter. Ride the train, CoP, HoP, TTA etc.

...or eat cookies, shaved iced, egg nog, or hot chocolate.. they’ll wake you up. ;)

If you already have a one day ticket for MK and also plan to go to the MVMCP, I advise taking a rest mid-afternoon then return between 4 and 7pm for the party. If you don't have a resort stay, visit the monorail resorts and unwind for a bit before returning. Then at the party, focus more on party activities than attractions, assuming you've done a good portion of them with your regular day ticket.

I believe the 2:00 PM entry is only for DVC members.
