Is this a good date to go?

Off to WDW on feb 22nd 2010 for 14 days with my husband for our first wedding aniversary / very delayed honeymoon.
I need to pick your fantastic disney brains!

Is this a good time to go? Crowds, etc etc?

Is the weather good (remember i come from london, so I am used to rain)?

Are there any water park closures planned at this time (TL)?

Many thanks in advance x

i think this is a very good time to go to wdw. i went last february from the 8-15th and crowds weren't bad at all. also the weather was really nice. i think it got up into the 80s during the day and it was probably in the low 50s at night, which still isn't bad for the middle of february. according to touringplans.com crowd calendar, the days you are going has a crowd level 5 - 7 which isn't too bad on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being the least crowded and 10 being the most crowded. not to mention that a crowd level of 4 is the lowest on the calendar, so really a 5-7 isn't bad. have a great time on your trip!

That is a beautiful time to go. Possibility of brief heavy rains during the day, but being from the UK, that should be no problem for you! Nights are cool once the sun goes down, but once again nothing you shouldn't be used to. I'm from Wisconsin and usually only need a light jacket at night.

I went February 7th of 2007 and in my opinion it was the absolute best time I have ever been there. Walked on to literally everything. I think Everest was one of the most popular and Soarin and each of those were 30 minutes or less.
The weather was mid to upper 70s which in my opinion is the best weather. However some people may like it a tad warmer. When it got dark it was cool but I love that!
I think you are picking a great time, although I think the crowds pick
up the later in Feb that you go.

We are going February 6th thru 14th. 2010 and it's a wonderful time to go. I sometimes tie a sweatshirt around my middle for later in the day. Mornings and evenings can be chilly with perfect sunshinny daytimes!

Actually if you can move your trip to the beginning of the month not only will you find lesser crowds for the majority of your trip but your resort rates will be lower as well. Resort rates typically switch from value to peak on or around 2/14. Crowds also tend to spike around that time as well especially that first weekend which is a holiday here in the states. If you were to check prices right now you would more than likely not see a difference in price as rates for 2010 will not be released until early August. If you were to check after the 2010 rates are released you could see anywhere from a $50-$150 per night difference on a good portion of your resort stay

This is our first anniversary hence why we are going at that date. Were staying off site too, so its not to bad :)

You should really check into getting a quote on a value resort (all stars or POP). You will be surprised how affordable it can be. And in my opinion it adds so much to the experience and you don't have to worry at all about transportation.
You should contact someone from Kingdom Konsultants on this board, they can give you a quote once August hits and the prices start coming out. Best of all, they can plan it all out for you at no cost to you. They are experts and just really great people.
I hope you think about staying onsite. I think it would be so special for your anniversary.

Also why don't you start your trip earlier and end on the later date. Like the previous poster said, the crowds will get heavier as February ends.
