well lets see...

i just read were the price of flour has doubled this year alone.

gas is $2 per gallon over what it should be,

retailers and manufactures are laying off.

the war is costing us hundreds of thousands of dollars per day.

the U.S. is at an all time deficit.

and at an all time trade deficit.

the dollar is so low that its almost 2 to one to the British pound.

gold is at an all time record high.

yes you are right, the economy is going great.

Hopeless, Economically ignorant...(see definition) before you label me as a name caller. you just have NO idea what your talking about.
Instead of complaining...DO something about it, Make more money....Simple, Isnt it?
Im not trying to be rude but facts are facts and the economy IS ok. Certainly not the best of times but NO where near in anyway the slightest bit bad times.
Anyways, NO. The economy isnt and never will affect our trips.
Again, I apologize if i came off rude but ignorance is nothing more than a lack of knowledge concerning a given subject.

Not rude at all..I see exactly your point. Yes there is alot of concern about the market the last few months, but if you look at the market as a whole and long term performance we are really not in bad shape. There are a lot investment buckets that are still consistent and growing. In order to benefit from the market you need to view it as a long term investment. Not in one day and out the other. Evaluating the economy is more than dicing one specific quarter (s) but the long term performance overall. Rates are down...there are two sides, creates challenges when saving money but there are solutions out there that can still get awesome returns. If you are considering consolidating or refinancing debt now is the time.

Yea...I would be able to afford a trip if..........

1. I wasnt forced to have this monthly internet charge that allows me to do fun things like this.

2. If I wasnt forced to have that darn cellphone contraption and its monthly cost.

3. I hate it when people force me to go to the movies or go buy new books, magazines, dvd's, or even when I 'm forced to rent them....I mean its such a pain going to the FREE library and getting those things for FREE.

4. And if people would stop forcing me to buy that Starbucks coffee or forcing me to go out to dinner.

5. And if one more person forces me to buy another SUV and have to fill up on that expensive gas...I'll just!)*&&^)*&.

Of course I'm being sarcastic but thats how I think when I hear people say things are so bad, but then I go into a local Target and its packed, or go out to dinner and a movie and we have to wait 45min to get a table and stand in line 10 min to buy $17 Coke and popcorn combo at the movies.

Attached are recent articles that just explains how easy it is to save some extra $$ and then you might be able to afford that Disney trip.

http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/SavingandDebt/SaveMoney/10EasyWaysToSave$500OrMore.aspx

And there are ton of other articles to help you ....just look. And stop believing the HYPE......scaring people to vote a certain way really works well.......thats why they use it!

I'm in real estate and yes things are really tough right now....but you know what for the past 7 years they were GREAT, and guess what I actually saved some money at that time so I could get through a little bit of tougher times.

When things were good I was able to buy a DVC membership so I now have a place to stay for the next 35 years at WDW....I use a skymiles type credit card to buy EVERYTHING (gas, groceries, etc. etc. ) It not only helps me keep track of my monthly expenses I can easily get 2 or more round trip flights a year from doing things that way. Now I dont suggest this for people who dont have the discipline to pay it off each month. Because I treat the card like cash...but someone pays for my Disney flights because I use their card like cash.

OK...almost off my soapbox.......my personal definitions....

Liberal- Success = "How many people did I help today get welfare $$"
Conservative - Success = "How people did I help get off welfare today"

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm getting laid off some time this month (I was the last one hired... though they also pay me the least, so they could keep me around) so this will be our last trip for a while. I have a few interviews coming up so hopefully one of those will pan out, but we'd also like to save up to buy a house.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

And another thing, Billions of dollars will be spent on Valentines gifts. Valentines Day is the biggest scam ever concocted. I am married and my wife will be lucky to get a card much less a diamond anything. I dont want to hear about the horrible economy. Instead of getting a Valentines gift for someone go put gas in your car or buy more groceries or put it in a saving account.:brick:

You've got a good point.

There is nothing wrong with saying "No trip at all this year" and people shouldn't be made to feel like outcasts because God forbid, they can't make a trip to Disney every year.

Amen!
