I'm not saying I think they should rush and sacrifice safety. I'm just saying one more cut can't take THAT much more time.

The cut shouldn't take much time. What takes time, as @dstrawn9889 said, is rigging the whole thing so they are ready to safely lift the piece when the cuts are made.

Remove the supports. A light hammering to one of the supports should do it. Then, run. Sort out the mess after you've admired the restored view. Ahhh.
