I can tell you that WCW wrestling shows were taped at DHS after Tower of Terror. I am saying that because my aunt told me that her and my Cousin saw professional wrestling being taped at DHS. This happened when WDW was celebrating its 25th anniversary and it was the only time they went to Walt Disney World.

WCW was a major wrestling promotion at the time and was the most popular wrestling organization in the United States at the time before it was mismanaged.WCW matter of fact caused the WWE have money issues for a couple years

I also did an internet search and found WCW had wrestling tapings up to 2000 at Disney MGM Studios when budget cuts were made to that wrestling organization.

Having WCW tapings was worthwhile at the time. Professional Wrestling was getting very popular in the 1996 to 1998 time frame.

Way OT story: I was at PI back when they had Mardi Gras parades and some WCW wrestlers were the 'Grand Marshals.' I saw Chris Jericho trying to get in through the PI turnstiles. He kept saying to the CM "Do you know who I am?"

I guess is it really worth moving it and all the other stuff with making it look presentable when there is SO much else that needs fixed and done around the park?

It was looked at being moved, as recently as this past fall.

If this will happen I don't know.
I really can't believe they'd spend the money to rebuild it........ but then again, they do use it in a lot of branding material?!

...which is being changed for a new park name, soon!?

OH, WHAT TO THINK!?

I can actually see that in my head, and it's glorious. Also, if this is WCW era Chris, then I can imagine Ralphus standing right next to him looking awkward.

If work doesn't begin in January, I'll eat my hat (pun intended).

But seriously, it's coming down within 30 days.

Not that it couldn't be altered but the CMs have had been given notice of new assignments because of the closure. While that is not absolute with Disney but overall is a good indicator.

Makes sense, permits were already issued so they aren't going to wait another month to start.

I know a lot of schools have off for a week in February in NJ and that's when a lot of people from there go to WDW
for what reason? i am in a nj high school and the "jersey week" for Disney is the the teachers conventions week in November. Nothing comes to mind in terms of February holidays

How long is this actually going to take? The wand's destruction was a two month long event, but that was a big more complicated.... Maybe this'll go by quick?

presidents weekend is a three day weekend in south jersey, no real "rush" to get to disney for a long weekend
Perhaps it is more of a draw the further north one goes. When my kids were young we lived in Vermont. During Presidents week (end of February) the schools closed for mid-winter break which cover the last week of February thru the first few days of March (up to election day). That is when we always went. If one drove down on I-95 that week, by looking at the license plates on cars heading south one would see New England and New York locations everywhere. It was perfect for us and the parks, though not packed, had sufficient patronage that Disney planned on having everything open and it felt very alive and vibrant during that time.

Even after my kids grew up and went off on their own, I still always planned my trips during that time period. Of course, it didn't hurt that I couldn't wait to get out of the snow and see some palm trees and feel some warm air. :)
