Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

So far as the Theater NOT being the icon...that's fine...I mean...what is the ACTUAL icon of DCA? There's only like 3 different things used in promotion...the centerpieces of the DHS/DCA type parks are as unique as the park designs themselves...and that's cool. Not every Disney park follows Walt's "hub" and therefore the centerpiece being the icon isn't obligatory...

Its supposed to be Grizzly Peak, but you can barely see the thing anymore. They really need to cut those trees back.

The issue isn't with the hat, the issue is with it's placement. It's akin to Frozen in Norway, Monster's Inc in Tomorrowland, etc. The hat should be above the animation building or in the front of the park. There are plenty of things out of place in the parks, and it's all a product of poor decision making. Whether it's an attraction being shoehorned in or some desire for a temporary structure that interrupts a 1940s era street, it's all bad.

The parks are far from flawless. If it were easy to pick up a building and relocate it, I could probably come up with a dozen substantial things that are out of place.

I'm a little confused. How have you decided from what I have had to say about the BAH that I am complaining about it leaving. If they would let me I'd grab a hacksaw and help take it out. I know the meaning of the "freaking" Chinese Theater. I believe that I am pretty much as real as you can get. Thanks for the reprimand though. I sure have changed my way of thinking. Oh, wait.... that wouldn't be true would it?

get mad at me all you want for being real.... lol

Not even a little bit mad, just bewildered as to how you came to your conclusion. It's not even close to anything I said. But, whatever! Hope you are having a great holiday.

That used to happen to me all the time until I placed the three people doing it on my ignore list. Now, life is wonderful. LOL Of course I think those three knew full well what they were doing and were attempting to get a rise out of me. No one can be as stupid as they were pretending to be. Half the time the suggestions they made about what they thought I was saying were so far out in left field that it was rather obvious they were doing it on purpose. So if you see someone do that to me and I don't reply then you'll know they are one of the "Terrible Three". LOL :D

I'm not going to knock anyone who truly liked the hat as the icon. I had no issues with said hat as the icon of DHS. I had problems with the placement of said hat. If it were in FRONT of the turnstiles, I'd have zero issues. It never belonged where it was for more than the 100 Years of Magic celebration. And even then, it still belonged out front. Those truly upset over the hat going now knows what it was like to have the hat placed in front of the theater and down a 1940s Hollywood Boulevard. I wish those who liked the hat understood that one of the biggest contributors to the park lacking cohesion, in many ways, started with that atrocity down Hollywood Blvd. That and shoving any ride they can think of there without a lot of thought. Thought for the park seemed to disappear after Tower of Terror opened.

I hadn't thought of that but you're right, up until Tower of Terror they were trying. Rock N Roller Coaster, and I like the ride, feels very much like it was just stuck back there. Minimal theming.

Toy Story Midway Mania is another one: Great ride (though I don't think it's great enough to get the parents rushing to it each and every morning) but it was just something stuck into an empty building for them and the theming outside it is fairly minimal. It's "Pixar Place" but you really feel like you're just amongst large warehouses / sound stages.

The sound stage feeling wouldn't be bad if they actually filmed and recorded stuff there, but they don't so it just becomes blocks of buildings with which they can toss new rides into.

Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll place it here:

...as a temporary measure, of course - maybe just 10-15 years or so...

Redic pic!! LOL Why couldn't the hat fit in with Magic Kingdom??? Put it somewhere on the property in the back, where it can be admired?!

Really all that stuff happened after DHS stopped being a working studio. ToT just happened to be one of the first major things built after that. It became more of a lost continent after the shutdown, but, they managed to keep things themed to studio's and entertainment. I'm not sure why people don't think so. Doesn't matter anymore anyway, what is important is what it becomes, not what it was.

In terms of THEMING, Tower of Terror is themed to the same time frame Hollywood Boulevard is themed to. I see what you're saying though.
