Well, maybe I'm not as good at Photoshop as I think I am, lol.

Not a bad effort at all. My problem is that it makes the Chinese Theater look like it's out in the boondocks. Maybe it would work somewhere else in the park, perhaps on the backside of a value-engineered Carsland (assuming we get some version of a Carsland, that is).

Wow that's big lol. I was thinking more of a forced perspective kind of thing making it look off in the distance. Still shows my general idea though, but maybe it wasn't as good as I originally thought.

Maybe it's my paranoia rearing its ugly head again, but I get the feeling the overseas parks get the same attractions, but at the next level. Why is this? Because Disney is entering new markets and needs the bells and whistles to attract customers in those markets? Is it because those overseas guests refuse to accept the lower standards many of us feel TDO demonstrates here in the states? Is it because Disney has become so routine and familiar to us that we don't care anymore? Have we become so fat and lazy that it is too much effort to try to make things better? Have we been so manipulated by marketing that we've become programmed sheep, i.e., we will accept anything Disney gives/tells us? All of the above? A combination of the above?

I've been thinking about this since this thread got hot after the announcement of the Hat removal and discussions comparing the same rides at WDW, Disneyland, and the overseas parks as we speculated what plan Disney has for Hollywood Studios.

What do y'all think?

I was just joking and this is my log in. I put a smiley face to indicate I was joking. Sometimes people don't get my sarcasm so I now have to put a smiley face to indicate I am being sarcastic. It's a very fine line to walk (though sometimes I run it ). Also not sure why you assume that because I'm new I must have an alt login. That's a rather strange assumption. May I ask why you assumed that?

This could very well change if there is a new one, but two months ago all of the "Four Park Icon" merchandise only had the Earful Tower. That, to me, was when I knew the Sorcerer Hat's days were numbered. But I feel like Disney wouldn't put out all that merch just for something temporary. I'm all for the tower being restored as the icon again.

I'm not quite sure specifically if it is inside the park, but I do know that it was the former icon prior to the hat.

It is in the park. It was more visible back when the Backlot Tour actually spent a good period of time in that section of the park.

It's within the park borders, in the area where the Backlot Tour used to run. You can see it from World Drive as you drive in, which may be what you are recalling.
