Is the Castle staying the pink(ish) color for good or is it just for the 50th anniversary?

For all we know there might be a new overlay for the companies 100th in 2023. Would be funny if the castle cake returned, in some form.
NOOOOOOOO !!!!

they also released a mug, oddly sold at Disneyland.
I didn't know about the mug, but I wonder if it ending up at DL is similar to the shipping problems that they had with a specific dress. The Dress Shop released a Railroad Dress. Some park related dresses they do one for WDW and one for DL (the embroidery on each specific to each park) and when the dress came out there were all kinds of problems both online and in parks. Online people ordering WDW would receive DL and vice versa, and once they actually hit the parks, the stock at each park was also flipped. I know they fixed the online thing, not sure if they did in parks (or maybe new stock was fixed but they didn't bother flipping what was already delivered)

Well Disney hasn’t forgotten about the cake unlike other things. It becoming a option for photos and they also released a mug, oddly sold at Disneyland. They could turn both Cinderella castle and Sleeping Beauty castle into cakes next year 🤣.
Prior management knew it was an unrepeatable mistake.

Current management wouldn’t know a mistake.

I still maintain that something like this would have been better out front than the weird, small, slanty cake we got:

I feel like this would have been a fun way to not take yourself too seriously while also refusing to fall into the same trap with the actual Castle. A nod to history without repeating it - and fittingly elaborate for a significant anniversary. Make it bigger, even - make it a real Photo Op.

At the very least there should be some sort of display like this in the new Confectionery. They could even sell slices of "Golden Anniversary Cake™️" styled to look like they were cut from it.

They said the 50th anniversary was going to last 18 months. So March 2023 would be the earliest you could expect a change. My money is on them taking down the 50th medallion and calling it a day.
If they do this...it will just prove how lazy Disney has become! The castle color is awful! Disney is getting a bad wrap lately and I would think they would do things that would win back those guests that are vowing not to return!

In regard to the 50th Anniversary...I think Disney went CHEAP for everything! Disneyland gets more love whenever they have an anniversary. One thing I noticed, was in a Christmas video from Disneyland Main Street...you can clearly se the garland stretched across the street just like it use to be at WDW, but the reason WDW took it down was because it took away from the sight lines to the castle!? Its the same things at Disneyland, they castle is being covered by the garland as you look down the street from the train station, so why take it down at WDW and put up those HIDEOUS looking braces each Christmas? They look awful!

Disneyland gets more love for the anniversary of one of Mickey's hangnails than WDW gets for an anniversary for the entire resort.

The Garlands no longer stretch across WDW's Main Street because the various parades include elements that are too tall to pass under them. It has nothing to do with the Castle.

I agree with you that WDW's Golden Anniversary is paling in comparison to Disneyland's recent celebrations. It's a real shame. You'd think they'd want their supposed Flagship Resort to be sparkling like never before for this auspicious moment.
