Is POFQ geared more towards adults?

My husband and I make the final decisions about all aspects of our trips, but we like to get input from all family members during the planning, as it is after all, everyone's vacation.

We've narrowed our decision down to CBR or POFQ, leaning more towards POFQ. My teens took one look at the pics I showed them and said it looks old fashioned and kinda boring. Hmmm...I think just the opposite, but my days as a teen are long behind me.

I know we will enjoy ourselves regardless of where we stay, but I'm curious as to any feedback you have gotten from your teens or kids regarding POFQ after staying there. Wondering if CBR would have more things for them to do or see. I don't foresee spending a ton of time at the resort, but I would like it to be a fun time for all of us while we are there. POFQ seems very quiet and kind of romantic, which is great for me, but maybe not so fun for the kids. I know every single resort will have a mix of families, and just adults, so I am well aware that my kids wouldn't be the only ones in the entire resort. Just trying to take everyone's thoughts into consideration.

Any feedback?

No teen... child, but been to both

I've been to both places. I totally LOVE POFQ... it's awesome. BUT, there isn't a great pool there and there aren't many teenagers there. Carribean Beach has more to offer for Teens (even their video place is better) and there are more teens there. If you are picking a place for THEM and not for you... you might actually want to look at the value places, they have the MOST teens there, and more stuff for them as well.

My kids both love POFQ...especially the DS, who just turned 13. Quick walk to everything, including a whole different feature pool, and the boat to DTD. To be honest, I wouldn't even consider CBR at this point. Full size beds at CBR make it a "no go".

POFQ is my 15 year old DD's favorite resort. My college age DD prefers POFQ over POR. I think it's the slide, resort size and food court. I know you posed a question regarding taking friends to WDW. When we took my DD's boyfriend, we gifted the airfare to him for Christmas. At that time airfare was $200 or less, nothing like it is now. We had FD and my sister stayed in the room with DD and her boyfriend. Since our DD was in the room we paid for it, but my sister paid the fee for an additional adult. He paid for his park tickets, which was a one day park ticket. My entire family took advantage of the give a day, get a Disney day promotion.

My kids liked POFQ, but they are younger than yours, ages 3 and 7 at the time. I didn't have any idea that POFQ 'was geared more towards adults' when we were there.

I would say that the teens would probably appreciate CBR better...I've stayed at CBR only one time many moons ago, but stay at FORQ all the time now. That being said, the one pool they have may be kinda boring to the teens...and the arcade is tiny. My 7 year old grandson loved POFQ but I would think that CBR would hold more appeal to a teenager, based on my 35ish trips to WDW.

I have stayed at both and while I love POFQ, I do agree that CBR would be more fun for teens. The new pool is way better than FQ so that is a big difference.

I'd bring teens to POR before FC. Everything is much bigger at POR, arcade, pool, welcome in the lounge show. FC pool is perfectly fine but one dragon slide and done. The hot tub at FC small, arcade small, gift shop small, QS dining small. Teens need some space, as much as I love FC, I can see a teen that is independent having an issue with it being boring.

We first went to POFQ back in 2006 when my two boys were 6 and 8. Now they are 12 and 14 and we are going back there next month. We have never been to CBR but we love POFQ. We have also been to POR twice and enjoy that resort as well. As others have said POR is larger with more activities and larger facilities, but we love the fact that FQ is smaller and much more compact too. I would never choose any other moderates over the Port orleans resorts.

Port Orleans.

Well having stayed at both, and saw plenty of teenagers at both resorts,as you say,I don't reckon you'll spend that much time at your resort but port Orleans wins it for us,tho we now enjoy RS to FQ. We prefer the large layout and better larger pool.but both are great.

We have also stayed at both and I aslo have to suggest FQ! Depending how old your teens are there is the boat to DTD and if they get bord (and you allow) would open up a world of fun.

We stayed there the year before last and our kids were 8 and 9. We all loved it, the grounds are gorgeous. In the evening the horse and carriage are out. We never rode but was neat to watch and hear the clippty clopp of the horse on the cobblestone walkway. Not something we see everyday, that's for sure! The boat to DTD was an adventure in it's self. It was so nice to just have that little ride instead of hopping another bus. What kid doesn't like a boat ride! The biengets, FUN FOR ALL AGES!!! Also, we all enjoyed the fact that from our room to the bus it was a hop skip and a jump! Lastly, it was neat that in the little bar that's in the lobby there's a jazz guy that plays and sings most nights. We'd be coming in from a long day and just sit on a bench in the lobby and listen. We all had a great time!

POFQ would be my pick because everything is close to the room- pool, food court, busses. Also is a short wald to RS and the boats are great. I do not think my teen kids care about the arcade at any of the resorts. They have much better games on their cell phones or DSI's. My kids apprec the food court having lots of choices and soft serve ice cream. I also liked the bar/lounge and entertainment.

Definitely POFQ, and it's an easy 5-minute walk to POR if you want anything like a bigger arcade or sit-down restaurant that's not at POFQ. You'd still do less walking than you'd have to do at CBR. And if you don't have a car, you'll spend less time on the Disney bus service at POFQ than at CBR.

This is kind of a deal breaker for me, to be honest. We will be relying completely on Disney transportation during our entire stay. I think it sounds much more relaxing to be able to take a boat to DTD to sort of break up the monotony of jumping on a bus every time we leave the resort.

I'm sure I will change my mind about a dozen more times until I actually make my reservation, but right now, I think I have my heart set on POFQ. It looks so beautiful.

As you've probably heard POFQ shares some buses with POR. But we never shared buses to MK, so that was always a short non-stop ride. POFQ has only one bus stop, and if I remember right POR has 3 and CB has 5.

I heard from a driver last year that Port Orleans Riverside has a much longer wait the CBR.. that's what he said anyway. I truely love Port Orleans Riverside and would pick this over many of the more expensive resorts myself. I think their food court is fantastic. But, they really don't seem to have many teens there. Yes, my son of 10 adores it... but, he's not able to really be independent the way older teens want to be. That said... how can they have a bad time or get borred at Disney no matter where they stay! :)

Don't know about teens in particular, but Riverside should have more kids than the other moderates, because you can put 5 people in a room instead of just 4.
