I personally think thats just plain stupid to put in a book about disney. I don't find it funny at all . i am very interested in pal mickey though. Are they available for cheap at the outlets like character premiere in orlando?

This is my first post! (Still not sure what all abbreviations mean) I read that in the 2005 issue and I also laughed out loud. In fact, I called my husband at work and read it to him (he laughed out loud too.) The guide is what- over 800 pages, I think they put that line in just to catch the people "zoning out".

We live about 30 minutes from the St Augustine Character premiere and they had the pal Mickeys a couple of weeks ago for $10. They had English and Spanish versions.

We got our pal in June of 2003 and think he's great. Our kids love him as well and when I say kids, I mean son 19, nieces, 17 and 15.

We were down at Epcot for the Food and Wine festival and when we were walking past the booth that England had set up with the yard glasses pal Mickey said "I'm ready to get drunk" Probably just a coincidence.

Then he went on to say, "I left my id in the car", "don't tell me I had to much to drink", "You can't throw me out I own this place, "Do you mind driving back to the hotel, I don't fell too good".

Hi folks,

Len Testa here. The Pal Mickey comment does appear in the 2005 and 2006 Unofficial Guide. And it is a joke: Mickey doesn't actually say anything about drug use. We actually had "(Joke!)" after this sentence in the 2005 edition, and it got removed somehow from the '06 edition. Even so, I'm frankly surprised that anyone would think Disney would release a Mickey Mouse doll that talked about getting stoned. We thought this line was so obviously crazy that everyone would see it for the satire it was. In any event, Bob has said it'll be removed from future editions of the book, starting with the '07 edition.

Anyway, thanks very much for reading the book. Sorry for the confusion.

Sincerely,

Len Testa
