My brother got "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2006" by Bob Sehlinger for Valentine's Day. Upon reading the book, he came across a section about Pal Mickey. On page 347 it said that "occasionally Pal Mickey will share something personal like, 'I could totally get baked on a good joint right about now.'" Has anyone else seen this?!? Would he actually say that? We were thinking about getting one for our 4 year old, but I'm not sure now!!!

I say go for it and get one for your little one!

 I find this very hard to believe. It would be a consumer relations nightmare. We have had our pal Mickey for almost a year and it has never said anything even remotely innappropriate. It's really fun and super cute. I think a four year old would love it. You should get it. The jokes and games are really geared towards young children although even an adult can enjoy listening to all the facts it has to say when moving around the parks.

Ummm...no. There's no way that Disney would release merchandise that said anything like that. The Unofficial Guide authors (one of whom is a member on this board) like to throw in bits of humor every so often in their writing--sometimes this is more obvious than other times. Have no fear, Pal Mickey is a clean mouse. (Well, at least after that month in rehab...:animwink: )

Okay...I have the answer to this question!

Having read The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2006, I came across this little blooper and laughed out loud.

You see, in my spare time planning for my Disney World trips, I read all of the Unofficial Guides (and even own the 2004 and 2005 and 2006 editions)

In the 2005 edition they said this exact same thing:

"Occaisionally Pal Mickey will share something personal like "I could totally get baked on a good joint right about now, are you holding?" And added (Kidding!) afterwards...

They put this same thing in the 2006 edition...but somehow forgot to put (kidding!) afterwards...

Kind of an odd thing to not proofread, eh?

Ditto - this is totally a joke and hopefully will be corrected in the next edition. You might want to write the authors of the Unofficial Guide and suggest that they remember that Disney is a family park. :D

I heard that they actually put smellitzers in Pal Mickey, that way he can smell when someone lights up on TTA and only then will he ask you to share.:lookaroun

Pal Mickey stinks... I bought one back in DEC... and he was always WRONG.

While leaving after Fantasmic one night.. Pal Mickey says "Hey.. Fantasmic begins in an hour" No, Mickey... no it doesnt. Its over. The park is closed... you day late and a dollar short dolt. :lookaroun

He was also wrong about the starting time of Wishes.... and a bunch of other things. :hammer:

Sounds like Pal Mickey didn't have his Daylight Savings Time adjusted...LOL... My brothers son took his pal mickey and threw it into that fountain in Ariel's Grotto - so now, all it says is "fghekjhj dhjfhdjdj dhjwheghrj" but somehow the "hee hee hee" is still clear as day.

I thought little things like that were hillarious with my pal Mickey. Mine once told me an hour after park close as we were leaving the MK that it was a good time to visit Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin because it had a short line. Well...I certainly hope it had a short line. The park was closed. :hammer:

Yeah.... I must say... I was not too pleased, nor impressed, with Pal Mickey.

Though... I did manage to defile mine, while at wdw. :lookaroun

Who knows...I am sure Mickey has some pretty bad days...just think of what he has to put up with. He may need a little "relaxer" after a hard day.

Of course the book is joking...you will find that many people take great offense to the joke in the book, yet many others see it for what it is...something so un-Mickey like, it is pretty funny.

I seriously SERIOUSLY doubt Disney would let that pass them. We have a Pal Mickey and I never heard him say anything like that.
