Is it worth it to get a AAA memebership...

I have received a AAA discount on deluxe rooms. They are in limited quantities and you need to ask for them specifically. In my case the discount was around 10%. Which over the duration of our stay came out to about one night free. Not bad. AAA has other benefits besides Disney discounts. So to make a long answer short, I believe it is worth it.

I have to say I was quite surprised when I got my "Room Only" Discount after mentioning my Membership but I saved at least a good $300 for a week and a day...I still need to get my Tickets tho at my AAA Office and find out if there is more by just showing my card.

I've done two trips to Disney using the AAA discount, and it's definitely worth it. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge in 2006 and the Polynesian last week. The discount saved us a few hundred dollars on both. You get the discount either way you book it - room only or package. The discount varies depending on the season you go. On the WL, it was 15%, but we opted to take free dining instead (you only get 1 discount, can't double dip). This time, it was a 10% savings, which was about $250.

Mousesavers has a list of how the AAA discount breaks down on the room: http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html#AAA We have a travel agent we really like at our local AAA office. I do a ton of research on my own, then get her official quote and have her book it.

With our Magical Express luggage tags and confirmation voucher from Disney, we also received details on the freebies from AAA. We got a free 5x7 PhotoPass picture that we had to redeem in the park. There were also vouchers for $$ off the bill at Planet Hollywood and a free souviner (we didn't go there). AAA members can also sign up for a story read by one of the characters in the MK, but we haven't done that. There's also a parking discount pass as well. We also received from AAA what they call a Diamond Card that gave discounts at eateries in DTD, spa discounts, etc.

I think triple aaa is worth it, i mean besides the awesome discounts you can get, it is great for car as well. I cant tell u how great it feels to know that if something happens with your car breaking down , or accidently locking ur key in the car:lookaroun, it is great, especially while vacationing at disney.

AAA. Will more then pay for itself just in the discount. I booked all of my Disney trip with them, besides being awesome to deal with I saved over $250 for one night on property and 7 days waterpark and more options. If that helps.

For our family, AAA is so totally worth it. And our agent, Tiffany, not only books our trips, she travels to WDW herself and gives us heads up on stuff. She also goes to trainings given by Disney. She helped me surprise my mom, sister, and niece with a Cinderella dinner at the Grand Floridian Christmas 2005. Yes, it did allow me to take my DH to a dinner for two as well :animwink:. My favorite thing is that Tiffany knows my family by name and always has something for my niece Disney related (stickers, a pen, pencils, etc.). And the weirdest thing is, every trip we booked with her our rooms were upgraded. I don't know what it is, how it happens, or why it happens (and I am in no way complaining) but we got preferred rooms at ASMusic and waterveiw/connecting rooms at POR. We checked in and were told, "By the way, you have been upgraded."

The other advantage of AAA - roadside service. DH says our membership pays for itself every year when I lock my keys in my car. Yes, I always manage to lock my keys in my car once a year. :brick: Always at Walmart too.....

To get the discount on the rooms? what is the discount on the rooms? Anyone ever get a discount with AAA on a deluxe resort room?

I say yes! You would be shocked at how many places give AAA discounts. Not just parks and such but stores like Target. We got ours mainly for our WDW trip but I have been using it non-stop since.

Oh and you don't have to use their travel agents. We are using KK and Marie had no problem getting them to apply our AAA discount.

How much is the membership? It seems like I checked with them a few years ago and I ended up saving more my finding a discount code with Disney. I could be wrong.

Based upon all these replies...I guess I don't need to add my $0.02. But I priced out a trip via Disney.com and went to AAA and priced it out that way last year and I saved us over $300 for a 9 day stay in CBR. That and the parking pass was sweet, (which I was able to Ebay after I got back).

So it definitly is worth it.

I saved $300 on my Disneyland trip last year through AAA, but I haven't gotten any decent offers on WDW trips through them. I always get a better discount through Disney, but that's just my trips, other people have huge success with it.
However, I got and love AAA for many other reasons besides Disney trips.
