IS It Me?

Am I crazy? We drive from Wilkes Barre Scranton Pa. area. Everyone seems to fly but me. I like to have my car. 4 tickets and nothing nonstop for a least a 2and a half hour drive. 2 hours at least at the airport and can't carry on my new snowglobes.

we drive from nj. leaving at 3 am, we can get there by midnight. pack sandwiches. Between my kids fear of airplanes, the cost of flight, and the tsa nightmare..I like it much better. To add to the fact that even in quiet times, we have spent so much time waiting for the magical express. Plus we have our car, and take anything we want (like groceries and a good coffee maker!)

Hello to a fellow NEPA person! We just moved from the Wilkes-Barre area to Tampa earlier this year... so we could be closer to Disney World, of course!

We preferred flying out of NEPA. For us, just not worth the drive. And after driving from there to Tampa to move (albeit with a truck pulling a trailer and a second car driving) if I never have to drive that far again, so be it. But to each their own.

When we flew down, we also always got a rental car. Never paid over $120 for a week, including all fees, and from one of the ones on site at the airport (our last trip in 2011, paid under $90 all together for a mid-size for 8 days). We certainly looked at the price difference, and flying and getting a rental car always ended up being about the same or a better deal financially, not to mention the extra time in Orlando and less the hassle of driving the 1000+ miles.

TSA has never been that bad for us either at PHL or MCO. PHl actually has a lane specifically for families that moves twice as fast. Waited once for ME and will never do that again! We use a car service for our arrival and the ME for return. I guess it all depends on your locale to a reasonably priced airport. We usually grab an 8AM flight out of Phila so we are on the road by 5AM and the trip down is only an hour and ten minutes.

For me driving has always seemed too exhausting as we dive right into the parks on arrival and I would dread the drive home that would seem like an eternity.

See that's been my thing too! Driving THERE might be fun, but driving home? That'd seem like torture!!

Nope. NO driving for us. 20-22 hours. My family did A LOT of road trips when I was a kid and it was a blast and we have lots of great memories, but we're not gonna' do it to WDW. Get my beeeeehind on that plane and get me a coupla' drinks 'til about 3 hours later when the main gear hits the runway at MCO. That's what me and my family are talkin' 'bout...! :)

The ride home isn't so bad stop and see relatives we don't get to see often and we get to show them all the cool pictures we took.

We'd never drive there. If I were still able to find one when I book them I'd book a non-stop flight every time. Unfortunately those are getting harder and harder to find. If we drove I'd be divorced before we hit the Tennessee border. We fly in and rent a car/SUV since we cannot stand Disney transportation any longer.
