Is it a pass holder or locals mentality that's the issue.

Yes, I know. Seems you post more in the WDW forums (I believe I only recently saw you posting here), which is fine because I'm assuming you enjoy WDW, no?

I wouldn't expect someone to post here if they didn't like Disneyland, had a boring time, and decided one trip was enough. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, but I'm just genuinely curious as to what interest one would have here if they didn't like the park. Really, I have no problem with it.

I don't want to get off-topic for too long. OP, where did you go?

Yes, enjoyed all 3 of our trips to WDW...first one was the best for sure as it was off season and my girls were 4 and 6 at the time. Reminded me of their first visit to Disneyland...pure awe and enjoyment. I posted for a long time in the WDW forums since that's why I found this site, way back when we were planning our first trip. I did most of my DL posting over at Miceage, Mouseplanet and the old Mouseinfo but they pretty much have become unbearable to participate in. Everyone is pretty mellow here, no egos for the most part and fairly educated fans...not the "know it all" fan that spends all their time on those other boards I mentioned. Good group here.

Right. It looks like most of them were genuinely there to have a good time and enjoy themselves, but I did spot a few...off people.
Probably so and yes, a few off people which quite honestly is applicable to some Disneylanders as you are aware. It's the self importance that's exhibited by some of these well known folks (not necessarily in the video)...for goodness sakes, it's Disney, not a cure for cancer.

I see frequent members of the DL boards gripe and complain about DL all the time, and that seems to be acceptable. Why is it suddenly an issue when a WDW poster chimes in to express their negative impression of DLR?

Oh, for sure, and speaking of Disneylanders, I think we should point out the events Disney does for us here out on the West coast. TP definitely made a great point when he said Southern California has a plethora of other things to do besides theme parks. Let's also look at the special events we get, as they are different from the one we saw in that video. Whenever Disney puts on a special event for Disneylanders, it rarely, if not ever, looks like something from that video. It's always something nostalgic or an after-hours party in the park, and these occur throughout the year. Doesn't WDW rarely put on special events for their AP's/fans? It's quite possible they're thirsting for a little bit of extra... I hate to use the word "magic," but it fits.

The only other account I have is MiceChat. MiceChat has a larger group of DL fans, which is nice, but I come here more often because I like our group and I have personal friends here. Dis is an absolute joke.

I'm afraid to ask, but what is Fresh Baked Disney?
I love watching Fresh Baked - they seem nice to me. The videos are short (generally 5-10 minutes) and I find them relaxing. When you're half a world away from your favourite place sometimes a few minutes of taking in the disneyland atmosphere is just what I need. Probably not everyones cup of tea though!

That falls in line with the whole "you have to go there to have an opinion" sorta thing.

Actually, Nosy Rosie, I don't. But sometimes I click on "New posts" if I am caught up on all my "watched threads" and I don't care from which forum a "new post" has originated.

Any other issues you'd like to clear up?

First, please don't call me nicknames, like "Nosy Rosie." I'm not a child, and unless I personally know you, I don't like others, especially strangers, calling me nicknames. Second, I never said it was an issue, so I don't know where you got that from. I was genuinely curious, and it's been cleared up, so I'm leaving it at that.

LOL. Same here. And don't even get me started on the Dream Suite. Expect a Youtube video of me in Oswald pajamas showing off all the cool stuff I found in the trash behind Pirates of The Caribbean.

Seriously. DL or MK. And sorry to the poor CM that has to chill outside the door because I have every intention of performing "Out There" from Hunchback of Notre Dame on my balcony at park closing.
