We have an ADR for breakfast at H&V. I have seen a lot of terrible reviews on this site. Is it really that bad? Should I cancel?

I've only ever eaten dinner there and it was a few times a few years ago but we always enjoyed it. Typical buffet. Check it out and see what you think??

I can't give an answer about Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine since I only to Hollywood and Vine for Dinner only. Hollywood and Vine isn't one of my favorite places for dinner and I haven't been back.

My experience of Hollywood and Vine for Dinner isn't the reason I never there for Breakfast. I don't like to eat at table service restaurants for Breakfast at Walt Disney World. I rather at the hotel I stay at for breakfast for a counter service or for a sneak at the hotel such as a cinnamon roll.

The thing is Table Service restaurants serve different foods at Different times of the day for a good deal of table service places. That means It is possible for a place to have better food at breakfast than for lunch or dinner. I don't know if that is really the case for Hollywood and Vine.

When DD was 5yrs and younger, we did the Hollywood and Vine breakfast each visit. 3 or 4 times total. The food is nothing to write home about - standard buffet breakfast choices. The character experience for a little one who watches Disney Junior shows is pretty nice. In addition to the characters coming around as usual, the CMs do (or at least used to do) a nice little song and dance routine that the kids are invited to come up and be a part of. They sing a couple of the show theme songs and have a lot of fun with the kids. Lots of quality memories of those experiences.

We've always enjoyed our breakfasts there. The food is not outstanding by any means, but it is a typical breakfast buffet. The character interactions have been good both times we ate there and the kids really enjoy the dance party they have in the middle of the restaurant.

We had breakfast there back in 2011 and it was great...at least among character breakfasts. I put it on par with Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's as far as food goes. We also had great service, the character interaction was some of the very best we've ever had at a WDW meal, the kids had a blast with all of the dancing, and they got us out before the park opened...which is always a plus.

We had breakfast there the beginning of January and it was good, it is the normal buffet breakfast. The kids love the disney jr characters.

I know I probablly shouldn't comment since the last time I ate there was 2006....but my kids loved it. The interaction with the characters was unbelieveable (Jo Jo's Circus and Little Enistein's). The food wasn't great but it was all about my kids and them jumping up and dancing with the characters every few minutes. Ah man...I miss those days.

We were there recently and had dinner. It wasn't bad. It's not the greatest meal but we found nothing wrong with it. Had great service and even though others have talked about it's lack of "cleanliness", we found the CMs to be on top of making sure the counters were clean, etc. We have never been for breakfast so I cannot speak to that end.

This exactly. We had dinner there last month and it wasn't bad.

I can't speak for Breakfast, but we did lunch there 2 years ago. We did it for our twin 5 year olds, and they loved it. That being said, compared to other "character meals" I have to say the food was not good. Food wise I would say it is not horrible, but not good. And, maybe the worst of the "character meals". We won't go back.

Keep your breakfast. We have had this breakfast several times and as someone else said it's not their favorite it's not ours either. But the Disney Junior characters are fun for the little ones, they get to dance with them. It's your typical Disney breakfast buffet, a lot of the same items up there....with the addition to the breakfast burrito bar which I love!
Now if you said you had the lunch booked that would be another story, that was pretty gross.

i have posted this in other hollywood and vine threads.........you get what you pay for.
it is not california grill, neither in service nor quality of food, nor venue
it is not pinocchio's village haus, neither in service nor quality of food, nor venue

it is a moderately price, moderate quality restaurant
i have always found the food to be hot, be of decent quality, and well prepared. there is a very respectable variety so that everyone should be pleased.
i have never had an issue with cleanliness or service. of course, any restaurant at any time can have an incident that upsets a someone writing a review. you have to look at the majority of reviews, and evaluate whether a negative poster had an unusual experience or a usual one.

i never hesitate to dine there if it suits my purposes on that trip at that time. offer me Brown Derby for my fantasmic package instead, and i'm all about it. but not everyone i go with wants to invest that much money in a meal. and hollywood and vine is just fine

Im on record in several threads that Hollywood and Vine is probably the worst pace to "eat" if you call it that in all 4 kingdoms or resorts. That being said I'm refereing to Lunch/Dinner..not breakfast..its really hard to mess that meal up at WDW as they all serve basically the same fare. I still wouldnt eat breakfast there as a matter of principle..but thats because Im stubborn and absolutly loath the place.

It is not that the place is all that bad, it is just that is not all that great for the price they charge. You can get a much better, cooked to order breakfast or dinner at a myriad of Disney restaurants at a much lower price. To be fair, it is pretty much the same situation at all the character meals these days.

True enough..Im not a fan of any Dinner/Lunch buffets as a rule..they are expensive for the lack of quality you get..However there are other things to consider:

Biergarten: I have eaten there for lunch and dinner..and would go back again..not every visit...but every couple years as the atmosphere/entertainment is great...the food is average...but overall its a nice cool place to sit for an hour and recharge the batteries on a hot day.

1900 Park Fare...I was with two kids 7 and 9 Jan 2012...thier first trip..we did dinner and again the food was'nt great by ant stretch BUT Lady Tramaine and 2 Stepsisters Drizella and Anastasia were priceless..their interaction was perhaps the best Ive seen..The 7 year old boy was approched by Drizella and she asked him if she could give him a kiss on the cheek....he turned 50 shades of pink and said no....this prompted Drizella to get very angry and shout across the room to Lady Tremaine that a young man was refusing her kiss. It was quite entertaining to watch what happened over the next several minutes as Lady Tremaine and Anastasia came to our table ending with a very bright red set of lips plastered on his cheek...which in turn he refused to wash off...this was worth the price of the meal in and of itself...and I'd go back just for that.

Cape May Breakfast Buffet.(our favorite)..or any Breakfast Buffet as mentioned is pretty standard fare..there are some unique things pending on the place..but all in all...I dont mind eating a breakfast buffet

That being said..I still despise Hollywood and Vine...

We have not been there for breakfast, but dinner, and yes, it was that bad. Not only because of the food, but the place seemed dirty. It just had a feeel about the place that was consistent with an old Waffle House. Very bland setting. Service was not all that great either, and all they have to do is get our drinks. Maybe breakfast is better, but for the money and the drabness of the place, there are much better places.
