Is Disneyland heading for a major tragedy?

No
ROTR is down regularly at DL.
Indy always is down and has bunches of effects not working.
Splash regularly has effects not working.
RSR goes down periodically.
Pirates shut down 4 times just on the morning it recently reopened.
I've seen the relatively new WEB SLINGERS down a few times.
I can't recall the last time I actually got all the way through HM without it stopping.
When the Frozen show was at the Hyperion, they had to stop the show more often than they didn't. I'm not sure I saw it run correctly without a stop or skipped effect more than once.

So yeah, there are issues on both coasts.
That’s nice to know. Thanks for sharing. At least we WDW Guests know we’re not alone.

And so is Disney...

I'm not saying there aren't maintenance issues or things worth being concerned about at both US resorts, but I don't see any real evidence that points to being back at Pressler/Harris times, at least at DLR. Florida, sure, but Florida's maintenance has been a huge mess for some time.

It all seems a little fearmonger-y to me. YMMV.

I havent been to DL myself in years. WDW is looking very sketchy to us when we went late last year. Lots of stuff going down for multiple hours or whole days.

This exemplifies some of the way that the fans have misunderstood these issues at large. Downtime doesn't mean that maintenance is lacking or that rides are unsafe. While the majority of attraction downtime is usually guest generated, the idea that unsafe rides are closed or shutdown should be an indicator that attraction safety is still a priority, and not the opposite.

Like the guy who stepped off BTMRR to get his phone that he dropped on a lift hill. Stop the ride, evacuate everyone off every train, and then the cycling and checks to restart take the ride down for an hour or so.

If the poster knew, Disney wouldn't be so GREAT at covering them up.
Yes, I was the poster, and yes I misspoke. I had read "The People V. Disneyland", by Koenig, as was thinking about that. Maybe not OVERT coverups, but more settling cases that they're not going to win to keep things quieter. You can probably find all the deaths and major injuries (that weren't settled with gag orders) on the internet, but you'll NEVER hear about it from Disney.

I don't think stops in HM count as downtime since it's usually people with mobility issues needing more time to exit the ride vehicle. Same as in Astro Blasters and Ariel.
I've never been stopped on either of those - or pretty much anything else other than Pirates which stops a lot, too, but I can't get through HM pretty much ever without stops. Though yes, that is likely mostly the mobility issue.

I've been stopped on other omnimovers, but the frequency at Mansion vs. the rest of the omnimovers suggests that either Mansion's system is considerably more fragile than the others due to its age, or that the other subsequent omnimovers were able to make changes that at least somewhat eased boarding for guests with disabilities.

I'm inclined to believe the latter because WDW Buzz's system is essentially just as old as their Mansion's but doesn't have the same issue of frequent stoppage. Presumably when the ride closed to become Space Ranger Spin they were able to modify the system in some way to make it more suitable for most ADA situations?

With the caveat that I have never visited the parks with someone who requires specialized boarding procedures.

I get stopped on Buzz about as frequently as HM (which I appreciate because it means I get more stationary time in front of targets to rack up points). I don't stop as often at Ariel; it usually just noticeably slows down, but sometimes it's a full stop.

Okay, now that you mention it, I do recall getting paused once right in front of a target on Buzz so I did just keep shooting and earning points. lol So that may be a plus rather than a minus. :D

I wish when Knott's Beary Tales ride stops it would let me collect points. Everything goes zero when it stops.

Pretty sure DIsney isnt going to put out a list of accidents and deaths themselves for the people to read. That would just fearmonger....
