Yep, they're going to unplug EPCOT and plug it back in, up the road, in Georgia.
The lesson to be learned is don't read anything posted by Inside The Magic....well, I feel pretty stupid now.
Don't be too hard on yourself. But yeah, WDW is too vast and large to simply be moved elsewhere....well, I feel pretty stupid now.
If they plan on doing that, they’ll first have to suspend the no-fly zone…Yes.
They're debating if they're going to sprinkle everything with pixie dust and just have it float away, hook a big helicopter to each park icon and just pull up the whole thing with them, or go with the tried and true "push it somewhere else" method.
There's a lot of strategic planning going into it. Might take a week or so to pull off the whole thing off.
(Can't believe this is a thing being brought up.)
Only in corporate…WDW ain’t exactly a circus that can just pull up its tents and move on from Florida.
Well, at least not the pull up its tents part.
Only in corporate…
How much did Iger pay for Fox?I think it would be kind of a fun exercise to actually price out how much it would cost for Disney to entirely recreate itself elsewhere, based on the current amount they spend on building rides, restaurants, stores and transportation, etc. I’m assuming it would be somewhere in the trillions (and take a few decades to boot).
I think it's safe to say that neither Disney nor Florida are the same entities today that they were in the mid-1960's.Thats the exact point of the whole situation. With what desantis is doing he is taking a company that cannot move, and taking away things that were promised to them in perpetuity which built florida into the travel destination that it is. It would still be swamp land and kitschy road side attractions if Disney hadnt come. It was a great get for Florida and the politicians then and for 50 years. Then this blowhard wants to push his agenda on the company. Any other company WOULD move. But Disney cannot. So no its not moving, and thats why its being attacked.
On a side note, can you imagine what will happen to US companies if he was somehow elected as president.
When you mentioned a circus, I immediately thought of corporate Disney as a circus…especially with the events of the past 24 months or so…Of course, but, didn’t they already kill the Nona move…?!

71.3 billion dollars. How much did Iger pay for Fox?
You could prob'ly get a good chunk of theme park for that much money, even at today's costs.71.3 billion dollars.
DLP cast really made a statement when a number of them conducted a live protest on wages and benefits onstage in front of the park guests. Try doing that at WDW and see if you still have a job.Lol don’t be silly. It’s like the early 2000s again when multiple news sources claimed Disneyland Paris was going to pack up and relocate to southern Spain
I was there a few years ago when the custodians were on strike and they poured garbage all over the floor of the park entrance. An interesting start to the day. I’d love to see the Americans try thatDLP cast really made a statement when a number of them conducted a live protest on wages and benefits onstage in front of the park guests. Disneyland Paris park contractor overnight cleaners did this act to raise awareness on pay and working conditions.I was there a few years ago when the custodians were on strike and they poured garbage all over the floor of the park entrance. Enough to bankrupt them a thousand times over.I think it would be kind of a fun exercise to actually price out how much it would cost for Disney to entirely recreate itself elsewhere, based on the current amount they spend on building rides, restaurants, stores and transportation, etc. I’m assuming it would be somewhere in the trillions (and take a few decades to boot).
Shanghai Disney cost $5.5 billion which is in line with an inflation adjusted Epcot ($1.4 billion in 1982 is about $5 billion today).I think it would be kind of a fun exercise to actually price out how much it would cost for Disney to entirely recreate itself elsewhere, based on the current amount they spend on building rides, restaurants, stores and transportation, etc. I’m assuming it would be somewhere in the trillions (and take a few decades to boot).
