Is Beach as large as Yacht?

Trying to decide between these 2. I like that YC rooms all have full balconies and I like the look of the room a bit more, but I like the lobby of BC better. We have 3 kids, so the atmosphere seems better at Beach for them. I've read that your room can be a haul from the lobby at YC. Is that the same for BC? If we decide to stay at BC, can we request a room with a full balcony?

BC has a few less rooms than YC (50?), but then the Beach Club Villas are there too.

It can be a distance to the lobby for either one.

Yes, you can request a full balcony, but they won't guarantee requests.

I'm a Boardwalk guy, but if I had to cross Crescent lake, I'd go with the Yacht club.
The darker atmosphere, cooler gift shop and overall mood just appeal to me more.

If I were you, I'd stay at the BC if you have kids. The Yacht is nice but the BC is more relaxed and there's things for the kids to do in the lobby as well. There's also a quick service snack counter at the BC which the Yacht does not have, not to mention the beach, where as the yacht just has the boardwalk.

I'm gonna have to just flip a coin. There are pros and cons for each:

Yacht - Nicer rooms, full balconies.
Beach - More relaxed, has quick service food.

I agree that you should go with beach club for the above mentioned reasons with kids. Wherever you are, there is the possibility of a long walk to the lobby (however a long walk to the lobby at Beach means a shorter walk to Epcot). I had a full balcony at the Beach Club when I stayed there this past summer.

Does the Boardwalk resort appeal more to people from certain regions of the US?

I live less than an hour from the NJ beaches and their many boardwalks and visit there often; I never had the desire to stay at Disney's Boardwalk Resort; I've been to the Yacht Club twice for business - which made me fall in love with the Epcot Resort area.

I'm heading back for another business trip in May, and the only room available with a discount that met my needs was at the Boardwalk Villas. I'll let you know what I think when I return!

Actually, I don't think that is the case. We looked at the YC rooms in December and didn't care for them as much as the BC rooms (friends were staying in the YC), we found the BC rooms to be brighter and more serene. Plus some rooms at BC are huge and some of the balconies are extremely large and more on the order of patios. Just ask the front desk for a room with a large balcony and you should be all set.

Beach Club is more child friendly. Brighter, more playful, more Disney character intrusion. Just request a room with a full balcony.

We stay at BoardWalk and love it, and live 45 mins North of Atlantic City and Wildwood. We overlook our own boardwalk/ocean in town. Quiet boardwalk for walking, no restaurants rides or games. So it does appeal top us, even though we live it at home too!!

Of the two, the Beach CLub, we've stayed in the Beach Club and the Beach Club villas, closest resort to Epcot,

But my real favorite is the Boardwalk, our home DVC resort, love it and we live in Staten Island right near the Jersey shore and have been to its Boardwalks and still love, Disney's Boardwalk,

Cannot wait til we return in August.

I have two small children and they loved the YC! They honestly didn't notice the difference between the two. All they care about is Stormalong Bay which you'll have access to anyway!

I like the rooms at the YC myself and the one I was in was redone. Not sure exactly what was done to it... new carpet, furnishings, maybe!?! We had an extemely large balcony that we shared with 3 other rooms... but we were the only ones that used it.

There's no real CS at the YC. There's a little place down in the lobby where you can get some grab and go items for breakfast. Not sure if they're open at lunch, dinner, or any other time. We only picked up cereal, a piece of fruit, etc. for breakfast in the morning. You also have Hurricane's Hannas right by Stormalong Bay. There's a couple choices on the menu... and the kids meal comes in a bucket and pail!

We love the YC. 2 kids, 8 and almost 4, we've been staying there the last 7 years. It's very kid friendly and comfortable. We had a re-done room in December and it was beautiful. BC is more Florida-style, YC is more New England -style. Either way the location is the best!
