Everyone I know has had sinus problems since Hurricane Ivan blew through.
Me too! A few weeks after Ivan, I became very ill. Cold, cough, weakness, sinus problems and this sickness lasted over 5 weeks (even with my doctor's care and medication). I still have a little cough left over. I've never had such an illness before. It ain't fun!

Everyone at work is sick. We've had more subs in for teachers this week. It is crazy. I am starting to feel a little sick. I'm trying to fight it off with vitamins and meds.

For some reason, Ivan caused a second blooming of some plants (I think it is because his winds stripped the leaves off and that is sa trigger for new blooms on certain plants). All the new pollen has caused an increase in allergy symptoms. ICK!!!!!

We've all been sick here as well...its lasted for weeks. Its allergy season here; we have leaf mold along with a host of other things. October starts RSV season (a viral lung infection) that feels like a cold, but mutiplied by 100. Add to the fact that most people haven't had a flu shot, all the moldy debris left by the hurricanes & we're all in trouble.

We've had our hard freeze already so hopefully things here will get better.

*warm comfy afghan anyone?*

It sounds like everyone is suffering from the same illness. Has anyone been diagnosed RSV?

My youngest daughter has had her first bout of RSV...the 2nd week of October. She gets 2 or 3 a season (October thru April). She almost died from it when she was 6 weeks old, but thank god every year the attack is less severe; it has weakened her lungs and she ends up with pneumonia every so often afterwards.

Its the most dangerous for preemies, elderly & those who are imuno supressed.
The cough (a very loose rattle) lasts for about 2 or 3 weeks afterwards. Most info centers around young kids, but its the same for older kids & adults.

Nasty chest cold for the last three weeks as of today :(
Tried everything o.t.c. - nothing working.

Finally called my dr this morning and told her how long it's been here AND the fact that I cannot take deep breathes would hacking. She is too busy to see me, but is calling in Biaxin. Hopefully that will work.

Anyone remember Stephen King's book "The Stand"? Captain Tripps anyone?

Are you wheezing at all? I've had pneumonia several times as a kid due to really bad air pollution caused from ADM (Archer Daniels Midland) in Decatur, IL. They have had so many problems with the government in their pollution levels and never do anything about it. I always got that when I lived there, but as soon as I moved away I'd never get sick....until I moved back there and got it again. Luckily I'll never live there again! :sohappy:

Immoxicillian (sp?) might be best for you. Ask your doctor if taking that will help you any. I love taking that stuff as it helps with everything (in regards to severe colds, pneumonia, etc).

I hope you feel better, along with everyone else on here that's suffering from something.
