Not at all, as Pixie Hollow is part of (well actually, it is) Phase 2 of the expansion. Disney could very easily pull a Beastly Kingdom and just forget about the project.

I like the Pixie Hollow for this expansion, It has one thing that Disney needs....Diversity.

I would be all for getting rid of Pixie Hollow for Wonderland. I could care less for the pixie crap and Wonderland could be so well done. If they did it right, it could be so immersive, as if you are actually in Wonderland. Sadly, this will not happen uless there is a miracle, but alas, I would love to see it happen.

I just don't see the Pixie Hollow concept having the same kind of longevity that the Alice in Wonderland stories have enjoyed for this long. Either way, as long as Disney designs and implements it well - either one will move the merchandise off the shelves.

Well I for one never wish to see anything Burton in WDW....well I understand many like his works and his is a creative person, odd imho but creative, I still don't see his works melding in with Disney anyhow. Perhaps his work is closer to Mr. Carroll's book's tone, alas this is a DISNEY park and when something has already been established and is adored...think the classic version should remain front and center.
Pixie Hollow is a step up from Stitch for me.....:zipit:.....think it would make a cute little M&G somewhere to run it's phase....but agree with posters that longevity of the traditional Disney AIW would be much better...AND I fell in love with the theming of that Paris Alice Maze from first google...what fun! And was hoping that the Barnstormer be an AIW theme as well but c'est la vie....even though Alice is not my favorite Disney feature, it's artwork is so incredibly awesome and classic.:king:

Exactly. I just can't stop thinking about how great it would be (and how much it would improve this expansion, imo) to turn that corner from the indy speedway and walk into an incredibly themed wonderland. I would think the tea cups would have to be moved deeper into the area of where toontown currently sits and out of it's current place. The Barnstormer could be rethemed to AiW and bring over the AiW dark ride from DL also. This would mean kicking dumbo out of the area though so not sure what would happen with that. I would also love to see a nice alice TS as well. Also, all the interactive stuff they are planning for the pixies could just be used for the AiW characters. Something like that I would love...Too bad it isn't gonna happen short unless there is some last minute miracle.

I'm not sure how that person meant it, but I have heard people use the fairies as examples of the African-American and Asian characters that Disney is usually missing.
Since, you know, all the animals, monsters, Mulan, and Princess Tiana are obviously white...

I wonder how many meet and greets does one park need?!?! I am ever so thankful my children never got into getting autographs aside from while we were eating at a character themed restaurant....standing in long lines without a fast pass opportunity....ugh! I can understand if your child has one special character they must see but would rather spend my time DOING something than standing in line....:lookaroun With the PixieHollow thing would you have to get all the pixies autographs....phew.....

It is kind of disturbing that we are getting two new "lands", where apparently the biggest attractions are meet and greets.
I still like the expansion, though. TLM is going to be fantastic and so is the Pixie Hollow ride, if it ever materializes.

Technically, it is just one land. Pixie Hollow is sort of "a land within a land" if you will, being an area inside of Fantasyland.It is kind of disturbing that we are getting two new "lands", where apparently the biggest attractions are meet and greets.
I would just prefer they do the original cartoon, I mean they aren't going to include the 2 Cinderella sequels in that portion of the park, what makes this any different? I can see how you might say to make the newer fans more familiar, but they haven't updated the Tea Cups or anything so I really can't see this happening.
Thats really the problem in my opinion. It should be about the money to some extent (because they are a business), but they should equal it out with listening to their fans also.

No one says they have to include anything from this new AiW....It is just making AiW relevant again among the general public. If they ever were to do a "Wonderland" I would expect it to be on the cartoon version. Not That I also wouldn't expect them to try and take advantage of the popularity of the new movie and try to sell merch, I just would hope they would stop at that and not try to insert Johnny Depp into any attraction as they did with him in PotC.

I still don't 'get' the basis for the argument that Johnny Depp ruined PotC. If anything he gave the ride a few more advanced AAs and updated it so younger fans might recognize what's going on. I guess you really can't please everyone.
I'd love to see a walkaround character of the new Hatter in DHS. He's just so appealing and random that it seems like the perfect kind of streetmosphere for the animation side of the park. Who knows?

I am not at all saying Johnny Depp ruined PotC. I actually like him in the ride, I just don't like some of the things that got replaced. What I was meaning with my AiW Johnny Depp comment was I would hope if they ever did that sort of thing they would never do that if the basis was that it was around the cartoon version b/c it just wouldn't make sense and would seem weird.

So, you're saying that pre-Depp PoTC was hard for younger fans to recognize what was going on? I don't think that stance holds much water. PoTC was one of, if not the most popular rides in all of WDW for decades before Captain Jack was added. I agree that the same refurbishment brought some better technology to the ride, but they could have done that without Depp's AA.
I think the refurb was mostly a wash when the positives and negatives are weighed. The tech is great to have, but I do think adding Jack and Barbosa added too much story to the ride. You're no floating through vignettes of some random pillaged town in the Caribbean, you're following a really weak storyline of Barbosa hunting Jack, with Jack randomly ending up in the throne room, speaking some pretty odd (and awkward) dialogue. In essence, before the addition of Jack the ride was the world's coolest diorama that you got to float through. Now, it's more like a storyboard that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It's still Pirates, and I still love it, but the movie tie-ins bug me because in this instance, no story was better than a crappy story.
Also - I really doubt PotC (the movies) are going to be timeless enough for the movie specific tie ins to make sense in 10 years. Could they change the ride again by then? Sure, but I wouldn't put money on it.
