Is 2 years old too young?

We took our son when he was almost 4, and now my sister is thinking of taking their son in Feb, who turns 2 in Feb.
Is that too young? Does anyone who took a 2 year old have experience to share?

We have 3 kids, and they have all been at different stages of life.. Ranging anywhere from 10 months old, to five years old.. Our most recent trip (about 3 weeks ago) was with our 5 year old, 3 year old, and 1 year old... and they alll LOVED it! There, of course, are TONS of things to do for all ages, and we're already booked again for february of this coming year.. This makes our 6th trip in 3 years, and we're not stopping any time soon!

if you have any specific questions, just ask.. we're pro's at this point.

As far as I'm concerned, you are never too young to go to WDW. I started taking my son to DL when he was 6 months old. You just have to have realistic expectations. Plenty of nap time, early evenings and lots of play time (not standing in line) are a must. It's so great to just watch them absorb the magic.

Heck no! My 2 year old is/was totally obsessed with monorails (makes his daddy proud ;) ) during our recent trip. She'll be amazed by just watching her son take it all in, it really is something to see. :D

My sister took my nephew this summer, he is 2 1/2. He loves Disney (Stitch is his fav). The kid loved it and rode everything (well except coasters of course and things will height restrictions) He had a blast, was a trooper too, took naps in his stroller during the day and was ready to go afterwards...lol. He is so ready to go back. :D
There were several of us on this trip, so the rides he could not ride, we took turns watching him, or took him to do something he could ride, or enjoyed a ice cream.

I took my daughter when she was one and she had a blast(shes now almost 11). Kids do remember things from when they are that young.I went to WDW when I was one in 1971(same year WDW opened) and I do have memories of that and im 35 now.

Took our oldest for her first trip at 4, but the youngest was only 18 months when she made her first trip to WDW. She had a blast! She loved the characters and the rides/shows. You just have to remember that traveling with a little one is a lot different than with an older child. Try to keep to the normal schedule of sleeping/eating/napping. Your sister probably won't get to do everything she wants to do, but the trip will be very memorable when she looks back on the joy in her child's eyes. There is nothing like taking a child for their first trip to WDW...priceless! :D

Our daughter's first Disney trip was at 9 months and was wonderful. We've been several times since and going at least twice in 06 (she's now 2 1/2). She now has a little sister who'll be 6 months at her first visit and we can't wait to introduce her to the fun. The good thing about Disney, is most of the rides are appropriate for all ages and are great for introducing little ones to rides in general.

I went when I was two in 1990. My sisters were 14 and 17. My mom had to stay at the hotel room for much of the time taking care of me, and I don't remember the vacation, but my 1 year old nephew went with us this year and it wasn't so bad.

Two years is a little too young for a child to remember much, but not too young for him/her to enjoy the parks, or for the rest of the family to still have a good time.

I thought that my trip to WDW with my 17 month old would be hell, but it actually was not. True, we had to skip rides here and there, and our final attraction tally was smaller than usual, but that was a small price to pay to see the joy on my child's face.

I went to DL when I was 2, and even though I don't remember a lot of it, it definitely left an impression on me. I've loved Disney parks ever since.

Two is too young if you're planning to take him/her on the RockNRoller Coaster. Or Tower of Terror, etc.

Otherwise, two is not too young.

Really, we took both our boys before they were 1. Obviously they don't remember it. Obviously, it was not the very best trip we ever had. But if you have realistic expectations about what you can and can't do and how long you can do it, how bad can it be to be at WDW?

Plus, at that age, they're free!

Take em! Took my 2 and 3 yr old (14 yrs. ago) and we still think it was our best trip ever. As long as they are not afraid of the characters, your golden!

Our 21 month old loved our trip after Thanksgiving. May I suggest dont make any dinner ressies that you wouldnt mind cancelling at the last minute. Children pick the oddest times to melt down.

Our son fell asleep three out of the four times we rode Kilimanjaro Safaris in Africa at DAK.....go figure. Naps will be sporadic and come at the oddest times......

We took our youngest daughter at 10 days old and she has been to WDW roughly once a month sense then. So I would have to ask why did they wait till he was so old to take him to WDW?
As long as they plan their schedule around the little guy they will be fine. If they try to do everything in WDW on a 4 day trip the young one will snap.

We took our 2-yr old daughter, and she loved it. She was familiar with a couple of Disney movies and Mickey Mouse, so seeing the characters in front of her was fantastic. Just be prepared for taking things at a 2-yr old's pace. and plan for naps in the stroller.

Definately not too young. Our son will turn 4 months old on Xmas day and he has been to WDW twice already. First time was around Halloween, and the second time was last week. Everyone tells us he won't remember, but we will, and he sure seemed to enjoy Dumbo, the Pooh ride, and breakfast at Crystal Palace. Seeing him gigle while looking at Eyore was worth the price of the week long trip itself.

 Well, you've already gotten many answers, but here's another telling you 2 is absolutely NOT too young, but remember they are only 2, and don't expect them to be able to handle a full day spent full steam in the parks. :) You should have a great time! :sohappy:
