Intresting video

Interesting video, yes.

But if you start clicking around to the user's other videos, you come to realize that these weren't authorized CMs poking around backstage with a video camera, but rather Guests who broke rules and put themselves in very dangerous situations... They hopped out of the ride vehicles to sneak into backstage areas, including in one video where one of the kids stumbles and almost falls into a pit (though I guess one bit of saving grace is that the potentially deadly ride machinery was ABOVE the cars on Horizons, compared to all the other Omnimovers where it's below the cars...)

My outlook on these videos would have been very different if they'd been authorized to do what they were doing. I have some former CM friends who had managers walk them around to video things from normally inaccessible areas, including one Tower of Terror CM who went out onto the catwalk behind the hotel sign, set the camera down on the catwalk and let it film a couple cycles of the ride. (They stepped to the side, out of view of the riders in the drop shaft)

The same friend, when he was in training, his original tour of the Tower and the various rooms happened during operating hours. When they came to tour the hallway with the ghosts, they had ti keep an ear out for when the next vehicle was coming and get back out of sight each time it came by.

That's part of the http://mesaverdetimes.blogspot.com/ website, entirely dedicated to them sneaking around to take pics of their favorite attraction.

Was it a bad idea? Yes, but I appreciate the footage of areas we never got to see before.

The attraction had already been scheduled to be closed and gutted (Then we learned, completely demolished), so all of this is a lot more detail than we would have ever received from Disney who probably prefer that we ignore the fact that this ride ever existed.

If Horizons were still around I might feel differently about this, but given that there is very little documented media about the ride I think we are all lucky two crazy guys risked being mangled by machines to document this ride.

I would never think about doing this and I would hope that nobody else does, but the footage that they captured was fantastic!

Wow, unbelieveable. As much as I would want to say shame on them, I have to agree with Chris and muteki that the video and images they captured of Horizons are incredible, and since I never had the opportunity to experience Horizons, it makes it all the more valuable to me. What they did is simply amazing.

I know this is a bit off topic and a funny question but if I named my band Horizons and used the logo would I get sued. Maybe I will change it a bit but it sounds right and also can be considered as a tribute to one of my childhood memories that I remember so clearly and would be great to name my work after it.

You'd probably be OK with using "Horizons", as it's a common word in the english language and Disney probably isn't able to copyright it. But the logo is most definitely Disney's copyrighted property and you'd have trouble.

I love the parks; I hate who ever plots the devastation going on in the parks. Well not devastation but you get the point. I am going to make a thearter with a cheap projector, surrounding drop cloths to block out the surroundings and hang chairs to the rafters, Now if I can find a 3d video

Yeah epcot screws up on everything they touch unless they just neglect it. That park is heading in a bad direction.
