International Gateway to Boardwalkwalk time...

Around 5 minutes? It's really not that far. The boardwalk is much closer to Epcot than it is to DHS, even though they have a path connecting the two.

How long of a walk is it?

the walk from the b/w to the Epcot Int'l gate is not only short (7 mins.) it is very relaxing and convenient.

i've spent more time walking from our room at PORFQ to the bus stop than from our B/W room to the gateway entrance.

although the walk to Hollywood Studios was about 10-12 minutes, the same logic applies, and it is a nice walk along the water. no bus fumes or waiting either way.

I always recomend walking over the buses. The walkways from DHS to EPCOT and the resorts over ther are so nice and there never seems to be masses of people. It's a really lovely walk at night as well, if I can time it right I'll see FantasMic and then walk over to EPCOT for a fish & chips nightcap and Illuminations; very lovely way to end the day.

I nearly always stay at the Boardwalk- the walk to Epcot (like everyone else already said) is very short, 5-10 minutes tops.

I love the walk to DHS. We never take the boat, as it's unpredictable and the walkways really nice. Even at its busiest times, like after DHS closes and it takes a while for the boat to come, the walkway is clear and actually, usually empty. I've always wondered why more people don't just walk.

It usually takes me about 8 minutes, but then I walk slow. I like to enjoy the atmosphere. Walking back from DHS to the BW usually takes me about 12-15 min. We enjoy waving the boats and checking out the wildlife. There are usually ducks along the walkway. The boats can get pretty backed up.

The first time we stayed at Boardwalk 2 years ago we took the boat to Epcot. Talk about feeling stupid. We waited for the boat, chugged over to the Y & BC, then chugged for about 2 minutes and we were there. We were like, "you mean it's right past the Gazebo?" We could have ambled there in the time it took us to just to WAIT for the boat. Sheesh, what idiots.

Don't feel stupid. For a first-time Guest (especially if you've gotten used to the idea that WDW is huge and spread out), it's really not that obvious that Epcot is JUST around that bend from the Boardwalk. And I'm sure it was designed that way so that you couldn't see the hotel from inside the park.

Now the question is, after learning that bit of info, did you *continue* to use the boat?

Sober, it takes about 8 minutes. After a few beers around the world, my wife said it took around 15-20 min. It would have been shorter, but I wanted to stop at the espn club!!
