Interesting Tidbit about Imagination Rehab

Has anybody heard any more info on this lately?? . In the past I've been hearing some exciting details from a friend who was sort of in the loop , but all of a sudden things have gotten very quite.Last I was told was look for this to be one very large rehab, look for late summer/early fall announcement/closure, late 08 opening , ride items /ride components have already started being produced. This all seems to jive with what everybody is also saying on here, but the lack of info lately has me a bit concerned . Perhaps their waiting for the 25th anniversary to announce ? Or it has been put on hold again? or worse!! I can't see them canceling this after already putting this much time and effort - would they? :veryconfu

The project is still happening. Latest word on the street has been that they are to announce the new attraction around the time of Epcot's 25th. Just how they will do it, I'm not sure, but I've heard some interesting news on that front. The time frame you provided is pretty accurate, though I haven't heard anything about the production of the components (except for one) just yet. I can say that there is some work going on by the old rotating Figment statue as I am typing this. I was also told that Imagineering went back upstairs to the Imageworks to do some measurements. The project is happening, it is just a question of when and how, not if.

If that is true, then I don't think there's any concern. Maybe WDI just tightened things up a bit because there was a lot of information on the net, and it is supposed to be a "surprise" for October 1st?

This has been one of the most open projects for a reason. Disney has been gauging the early responses for quite some time, for one main reason. As I have said before, this rehab is supposed to be the creation of a version to please all parties- end all other refurbs and leave every guest satisfied. There is much to take in with this project, but the end result will be satisfactory to all parties.

The new ride takes place in the EPCOT Center bunker, where Sergeant Dreamfinder and Private Figment need your imagination (and your marksmanship skills) to use special "Imagination Guns" to blast away all the remnants of new Epcot. Along the way, guests will encounter menacing cutouts of the Wand, Nemo, Gravestones, Stitch, and Eric Idle. After Epcot is returned to it's former majesty, Dreamfinder and Figment invite you to Operation: Dreamworks, a top-secret post-show where you can make the entire 1982 music loop by stepping on piano keys, and use a time-machine to prevent Horizons' destruction!

I would ride it. :lookaroun

that would be like the most awesomest thing ever, its up there with plush toys of that yellow smiley with the crown :king:

 Hi Friend. I almost thought that I had post this! I thought to myself, "When did you do this??"

Once upon a time a friend of mine created an account with your screen name and people got a slight bit confused. He actually ended up having Steve change his screen name! Hopefully we won't have that same problem. :D

Have a magical day!

I'd love to see what they have in mind. I hope it combines the theme of the old and new versions

I can see the ad already. "Help Figment and Dreamfinder take all the fun and interest from Epcot and make it as boring as it was 25 years ago."

I can hear the announcement now - "To celebrate the YOMD, dreamers everywhere will be reunited with the most famous Dreamer in EPCOT's 25 year history - DREAMFINDER"

If not that, something similar. I promise you the word dreams will be used 1000 times and YOMD will be tied into all this somehow. Synergy....gotta love it. LOL
