Interesting thing I saw at Star Tours

This could be nothing, but when I went on Star Tours the flight board schedule in the que area had said "Soon Endor won't be the end all" or something like that. I've never seen that before and it only scrolled across the screen for a min. Since the guest is supposed to travel to Endor I thought maybe they're saying there will be a new flight soon. It could also be a foreshadow of what's to come on the ride, but I thought I would just share it anyway.

very suspicious indeed...

Any other clues to be found in the queue? Can anyone verify?

Note that much of the current Star Tours merchendise says "Tatooine Express" rather than "Endor Express". Though it's been this way for about 2 years.

Sorry to burst your bubble but it has been like that forever. They have been doing that since it opened in DL and when it opened at MGM they took everything from DL as is. If you listen in the first room of the queue they even talk about leaving from Tomorrowland space port. The rumor of the new tour has been going on forever with a million reasons why it has not changed range from no money to the point where Uncle Mike and George are in some fight about it. The last time the rumor was passed around was just before Ep. 2 and nothing came so lets just see if when Ep. 3 comes along.......

When we were down over Christmas... as usual this ride was a "must-do". It is def. one of my favorites. But everytime I ride it... it just gets worse. I like the whole idea of getting caught in a fight scene, but I think they do need to update it.

On another note...
I got the REX (pilot) action figure down there! Its soo cool! I would've bought them all if they werent $10.00. :(

I always loved this ride...but I'm starting to get a little bored with it. An update would be awesome! (not that I belive it will happen anytime soon)

The Star wars building would be demolished and half the Death Star would stick out of the ground. When you board the ride it is a Roller Coaster ride. You fly out of a space port and zoom past planets. ALderan explodes and you are flying right next to the Milenium Falcon towrds the Death Star. Then you zoom Then you travel warp speed and you fly past Naboo and Tatooine. You zoom closer to Corusant and fly past buildings and speeders. You zoom back out past Geonosia and you go directly to the Death Star and travel through the area where they shoot and destroy the death star. Then the roller coaster starts to twist and spin. Sound effects during this ride would include all the movies. But of course R2D2 and C-3PO. That is my idea for Star Tours. not like it will ever happen.

Great idea but i dont think it will happen. :(

I have never noticed the endor thing at all. I trust you guys though. A change really needs to happen. i would like to keep the same ride but different video type thingy. The ride is awesome but maybe a update like the deth star would be good. maybe george lucas can get into the production of this. I doubt it.

If you think that the ride itself is cool then you should do the Backstage Magic tour, you get to stand underneath one of the ride vehicles when it is operating, you'd be amazed at actually how much the whole thing moves :)

I just want the film and ride to be in sync with each other! My past several rides, in different cars, I've noticed that they are about a second off. I believe the film is behind the motion. A few times I've come off feeling a little woozy.:hurl:

But then again, they're not performing too badly in their relatively "old age" for a simulator, at the moment it uses separate image film and motion commands (as far as I know, I don't think that the motion is encoded into the image film) and some newer model simulators use digital based video to ensure synchronisation.

PLEASE stick to the classic trillogy. I have childhood memories, you know....

...okay, okay, well, just make sure you don't include Jar Jar.

This is old technology and the company that makes them sells them everywhere. Ever been to Busch Gardens in Virginia? They have have the exact same model ride there with a different movie.

I love Star Wars but I always pass it up in favor of other things now. ( Even the front projection is looking grainy these days)

10021982,

Can you remember what company makes the simulators, when I did the Backstage Magic tour I remember seeing that some of the control equipment said that it was made by Rediffusion although I don't think that they're still around

Thanks.
