Indy Ride At WDW

If you hear it out of a cast member, trust me,its definitely true.:)

I was standing in line for The Flying Unicorn at Islands of Adventure around very early 2002. Two CMs were standing around talking. One said,"Hey,did you hear? Kong is closing in September and we're gonna build this Mummy indoor coaster. And then at the end of this year Hanna-barbera is closing and they are making it Jimmy Neutron." Nothing was said about Shrek 4D though.

And what happened? Jimmy Neutron showed up,and Revenge of The Mummy opens next year. CMs are some of the most reliable people since they work for the company.

I 100% guarantee you that Indiana Jones and the Temple of The Forbidden Eye or a newer version will be opening at the Disney MGM-Studios in less than 3 years. I guarantee that!:D

WOW!!!!!!!!

Take EVERYTHING you hear from CMs with a grain of salt. Just because those turned out to be true doesn't mean all rumors are true.

I like the Indy stunt show, but imo it does need replacing when the new stunt show opens. Anyone who has had to sit and watch the crew struggle to get the supposedly moveable sets out of the way, when they keep breaking down, will know what i mean.

Anyway, I new Dinosaur type-ride or an Indy Coaster would be excellent for that spot because it wouls spread out the crowds more evenly in the park, especially when the ToT and RnRC and BatB gets very busy. At park opeing not all the experienced guests would necessaryily head for them. Also sticking to Indy theme would also keep to the MGM style :)

EMV Vehicles can take more capacity than 2 or 3 Rollercoaster Trains.

The show takes the most.

AMEN!!!

But wouldn't it be great if Wal-Mart closed an old store every time they wanted to open up a new one?!?!?!

And now, back to Disney......

:p

Ride system reuse?

Let's see, reuse the same technology over again?

Omnimover a.k.a. Haunted Mansion's Doombuggies & Space Ship Earth's ride cars.

Islands of Aventure's Cat in the Hat & Universal Studio's Men In Black ride cars.

Pixar's Finding Nemo, SKG's Shrek, Disney's Treasure Planet (sort of) CGI techniques.

It's not about the technology/technique. It IS about the story.

Disneyland Paris has an Indiana Jones roller coaster. Though I would much rather see the ride. While I've never experienced the coaster myself, I've heard horrible things about it.

I just downloaded a video of the Indi ride yesterday, and, while I know that a video can't do the whole justice, I could tell that it looked spectacular. And, yes, the theming is what matters. That's what makes WDW so great-the theming.

no, i have never ridden it... i actually have never seen it, I just knew that there was an Indy coaster at one of the parks, but i did not know that it was a horrible ride.... if it is that bad then the Indy ride from California is much more welcomed!

ps - what is so bad about the ride at Paris?

Well, it goes backwards, and I heard that it hurts your back.

But all of you are assuming we are getting a copy of a ride....

What if we got the same ride that DisneySeas is getting? It's a coaster type ride bur much more detailed than the paris one (compare $8 million budget for paris to $80 million budget for tokyo) Sounds pretty good!!! I would like that in MGM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever ridden the coaster?

Its horrid!

Well, I have, and I didn't see anything "horrid" with it. Sure, it may not be the greatest coaster of all time, but it's Indy, and its themeing is fantastic, it feels like the mine cart scene from "Temple of Doom".

I really love roller coasters, and I wouldn't mind another one at MGM, but maybe EPCOT needs one first, since Ak is getting Everest, MK has the Mtn's, MGM has RnRC, EPCOT getting Timer Racers!? Maybe that should be done first, but i still wouldn;t complain if another arrived at MGM. Basically, as long as its Disney standard theming and an enjoyable ride (even if not so thrilling!) I will be looking forward to a new experience.
