What happends if you pull the rope on the well located out the Indiana Jones show? I have read on a couple of sites to "not pull the rope" and when I went in August I tried to get my husband to pull it but he never did. Since I don't know when I will be returning to the world (sad I know!) I would like to know what happens!

Needless to say, you are suppose to pull on the rope. I don't want to give it away, but give it a pull on your next trip. It is one of those little things that makes Disney special.

That would spoil some of the Disney Magic! You don't get hurt/wet/embarrassed or anything of the sort. Just wait til your trip and pull it. :D

Why not just answer the person's question. I would if I knew what happens.

Because part of the fun is pulling the rope without knowing what happens! Everyone that has pulled it had to make the decision to do it. None of us knew what would happen that initial time. Part of the fun of the gag is doing it without knowing!

As One Lil Spark said, you do not get hurt/wet/embarrassed. It is all in fun.

Here is a link to a video of what happens. If you want to preserve the magic for your next trip (which is the choice I would recommend) then do not click the link. If you must know what happens and you wish to completely spoil the surprise thereby making your life meaningless by all means click the link.

You have been warned. Do not call me years from now and expect me to talk you off of that ledge when you realize that the simple click of a mouse ruined your life.

NOTE: The video contains only one of several possible results so there is still hope for you if you take the easy way out and click the link.

Thank you for saying that. Like I said in my original post, I don't know the next time that I will be able to travel there, and who knows if that attraction will even be there when I return. I just wanted to know what happens :p

Every time someone pulls the rope, it causes something awesome to close at Walt Disney World. It was most recently pulled this past Saturday. 1994 was a bad year, with the Two Pullings of the Rope, but nothing tops the Terrible Rope Pull of January 1999...

It's so funny I seen this thread - this trip was the first time that I knew anything happened with the well and the rope. We were passing by, when someone pulled it. What a great little fun touch - because you knew some castmember knew there were guests who couldn't resist trying it!

You know, I'm ashamed to say I have no idea where this well is (nor where the vehicles from Indy III are) relative to the attraction. Has it always been there?

I have watched the show 3 times -- twice in 1990 and once in 2002, and I don't remember seeing anything of interest in the line. Or maybe I was just so excited to get into the show that I didn't notice?

The well is more-or-less directly across from Gertie the Dinosaur. It's been there for a while, though I don't know exactly how long.

A suggestion: PM the person if you're willing to share. That way others will not be scarred for life...

and the YouTube link was a great idea, too...thumbs-up on that.:)

I've never heard about this before and at first wanted to know, but now that I read the email I think I'll wait and do it when we go in December. 60 more days:sohappy::sohappy:
