NO! My first visit to Disneyland will be Sept. 5th. All I ever hear is how great this ride is and now I’ll miss it! I guess I could go on the 3rd, but I wanted to avoid the locals on Labor Day. Am I wrong in thinking that would be a busy day?

You should be fine on Labor Day. Locals will still show up, no matter what day. It never really gets too crowded, unless it's a special event or something. If you really want to ride Indy, I suggest you visit on the third.

Going to be at DL the Tuesday - Friday after Thanksgiving - any chance there might be some soft openings since that's a week before the refurb is scheduled to be complete?

There may be a slight chance but I wouldn't count on it. That's an entire week, but who knows, it could potentially happen. I just wouldn't get my hopes up.

I'm glad this is a good 3 month+ refurb, and not one of those 2-3 week jobs.
It's remained an amazing ride, but Indy's needed some serious maintenance for a while.
This closure will give them the time to really fix things up and make it shine!

To those who are disapointed about the closure because they'll be visiting during that time, I feel your pain.
Fortunately the best attraction on the Planet (my humble opinion), Radiator Springs Racers is just a 10-15 minute walk away in DCA. Ride it a couple extra times.

So the downtime isn't for the purpose of installing a holiday overlay? I'd pay good money to see my EMV threatened by a giant rolling fruitcake! :D

Anyhow... this is a bummer, as I was looking forward to riding IJA next month. Still, with the new additions to DCA, there should be more than enough to keep me entertained.

In any case, I have a feeling I won't be making a trip to WDW in 2013... so I just might see the newly refurbed Indy next year if I get the chance to drop into DL on my way to other, more distant Disney parks.

Just make sure you get to DCA when it opens to get a RSR Fastpass. ;)

:( Don't be devastated, there are plenty of other E-tickets that will be open! And if you're going to Universal, Transformers is open and I honestly don't know which one I like more than the other (Indy or Transformers). Don't worry, you'll still have a great time.

I'm disappointed, but can live with attractions closing so long as when they are open they are looking and operating as they should.

Looks like Indy, Casey Jr, and Storybook Land will be the things down during my dates. I'll live ... did all three in my three trips there last August/September, December and January.

Yeah, I'm wondering whether I'll get to UNI this trip. I wanted to, but there's too much work and too much fun planned and I just doubt it's gonna happen.

I was able to ride it right before it closed and, honestly, I was just not impressed. I kept waiting for something to jump out of all the dark places and it never happened. Hate to be negative but I thought it was just a bumpy dark ride past Indy scenes. Dinosaur scares me every time. This didn't. Maybe the expectations were too high?
