Indiana Jones Adventure at MGM?

How about a totally new Indiana Jones ride let's see they've done it with a rollercoaster and they've done it with a motionbase vehicle now let's see them do it with a water ride. If you think about this it does make sense for one reason Indiana Jones fits well into the theme of MGM a totally new IJ attraction would eliminate the need to use the same ride system as Dinosaur plus MGM could really use a good water ride. I could see it now a totally new high tech water ride all placed indoors with special effects and they can even send passengers hurtling into
a giant water vortex created by mysterious forces inside the ideas for this kind of ride are endless plus it's a totally new original Indiana Jones attraction!

A Water version of an EMV attraction wouldnt physically work. Plus the way your on the Vehicle. You wouldnt even see the water. Either a boat attraction, or an EMV. Cant have both.

This water ride would have nothing to do with an EMV it would be a totally new attraction mixing a new generation water ride vehicle with immersive dark ride elements!

How the heck did we end up talking about water??:hammer:
Im not really a fan of water rides. they are slow and wet. I prefer Rails. There is enough water in catastrophy canyon in MGN.

Say no to drugs...

Hmmm.. I think this is a great idea. Something along the lines of Jurassic Park River Adventure at IOA perhaps?

Why dont u like the Indy Coaster? It isnt that bad is it?
Maybe they will put a unique Indiana Jones coaster? Who said it had to be like the one in Paris? Maybe we will get the same one that the DisneySeas is getting?

If some of us want a water ride while others want rails, why not build an awesome water coaster--you know, the type of ride Atlantis would have been had Sea World not been cheap. If they really want to, they can put all the roller coaster elements you love on these coasters...ending with a splashdown:) That could actually be a pretty kewl dark ride...they could theme it so that the whole time you think you are on a mine ride (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom), and suddenly at the end...SPLASH! Of course...unlike Temple of Doom, there would need to be kewl Indy Adventure style effects and the incredible score...

The DLP one is really bad. It was shoved in as a quick fix, and it shows. It is also a very poor show by Intamin, as all their other coasters I have riden have been top-notch.

This review pretty much sums the whole ride up: http://www.m.sheen.dial.pipex.com/coasterkingdom/html/indianajones_main.htm

Best Point: Doing a loop backwards = Really weird sensations
Worst Point: The rest of the ride. Extreamly rough, and jerky. Due to going backwards, you can't braced yourself for the jerks, and therefore your head and shoulders take a massive beating from the OTSR's

Im starting to understand how bad the French Indy is. Maybe we should get an improved or original Indy coaster?

I think some of you are missing the point of this the water ride
would be of a completely new generation something very high tech very thrilling and something thats never been seen in a themepark before although this ride will include water it does not mean that you will get wet think of a Pirates of the Carribean on steroids.

Check this out....it sounds like an update of the Indy coaster to me:

3/12/03
URAYASU, CHIBA\Oriental Land Co. announced today that two new attractions will be added to Tokyo DisneySea Park in the fiscal years 2005 and 2006. One attraction will be a roller coaster with a vertical 360-degree loop and the other will incorporate a free-fall element. Since opening in September 2001, Tokyo DisneySea Park has enchanted millions of guests with its themed ports filled with adventure, romance, imagination and fun. The addition of these two attractions is intended to increase the enjoyment of guests visiting the Park.

Projected to open in fiscal 2005, the roller coaster attraction (named undecided) will be the first such attraction at Tokyo Disney Resort to feature a vertical 360-degree loop. The attraction, located in the themed port of Lost River Delta, will offer guests a thrilling experience on a high-speed ride through special effects employing fire and water. A total of 8 billion yen (about $70 million) will be invested in the attraction. Also, a new counter-service restaurant will open adjacent to the attraction.

The other new attraction, Tower of Terror, will open in fiscal 2006 in the themed port of American Waterfront. The setting of the attraction is an old hotel. Guests will ride to the top floor and experience a number of mysterious phenomena before plunging down in a free-fall. The total investment in this attraction will be 21 billion yen. Captured on camera as they make the thrilling drop, guests can purchase the resulting photos at a new shop opening at the attraction.

Besides these two new Tokyo DisneySea attractions, a new attraction based on the Disney film Toy Story will open at Tokyo Disneyland Park. As previously announced, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters will debut in April 2004.

**********

With this new attraction, Lost river delta will have 2 E-ticket Indy rides. (don't count on the Paris version for 70 million dollars) Sounds sort of like what was originally planned for DL, where there would have been the Indy jeep ride, afterwards you would have chosen to ride the mine train roller coaster out or take the maze out. The jungle cruise and railroad were also suppoused to travel through this huge temple.
Anyway........it would make sense for them to build the ride while the one in Tokyo is being built. (although an EMV might be a better choice than 2 looping coasters in one park) Wouldn't it be so cool (but incredibly unrealistic) if MGM got a Indy mini-land with 2 rides.....we could all be happy!!!!(as long as there's a water ride involved) That makes three.....they could theme each ride to each one of the movies!!

Tokyo is getting a first class new coaster for Lost River Delta, with excellent themeing. But then, money is no object for the OLC.

Don't look for a similar ride at WDW. It would be cool though...

Lee..buddy...friend...ol' pal of mine...as you are one of the few people on this board I believe (you proved me soooooooo wrong about Everest...remember, I was the one who has a CM friend who claimed to have dated an imagineer and assured me that some type of Beastly Kingdom was about to be announced), could you please give us some hints at what is planned at the Studios besides the new Moteurs Stunt Show? I can't believe Team Disney would allow two stunt shows on the property with essentially the same format (see stunt, stop, listen to explanation, set up for next stunt). And as for a comment you made in another thread about the submarine Lagoon, could you give us just a teeny bitsy hint as to what rumors you have heard floating about. I promise I won't tell anyone! Scout's Honor! :zipit:

Well given OlC's track record since Toyko DL opened in 1983 I believe it doesnt appear to be much of an issue. Although Disney Sea opened a few years ago. From what I can see onlline they have done a better job managing their DL than Team Disney has done managing Anaheim DL.

What ever happened to the rumour about Cine'Magic coming to the studios?
It was rumoured to come to the studios at 2005 and when you think about it, it makes sence!!!
Maybe this is the new ride coming to the studios? I think there is plenty of room for this attraction!!! Maybe the Indy coaster/adventure/water ride will actually come to the Magic Kingdom? All the parks have plans for 2005 except for the Magic Kingdom................... Maybe this is the next big thing for MK and it will also celebrate Disneylands 50th year.... This actually makes sence because they will celebrate by having a duplicate version of the Indy in california!!!!

The Magic Kingdom is getting Philarmagic. Once it opens, I bet there will be plans for a new ride. ( It'd better not be Stitch in Alien Encounter :fork: )

But Philarmagic is not as major as Project J.,EE or the Motor stunt show

I'd love to...if I could.
No source of mine has any good info on the Studios, but lots of unlikely stuff is floating on the wind: Cinemagic, Indy Ride, Reign of Fire for Tram Tour, Armageddon show...it goes on and on. There is nothing that I would even rank yet as a solid rumor, though the feeling is that something is up.

As for the lagoon rumor...nope. It's just a rumor at this point, and if it turns out to be right, my source could be exposed. Patience.
As I said on another thread, I think Steve knows the same rumor and hasn't posted it yet. I will say this, it ain't Mysterious Island like I have been wishing for.

:sohappy: YES I CAN SEE THAT IT WOULD BE LOGICAL EVENTUALLY TO HAVE INDIANA JONES ADVENTURE IN THE PARK BUT AS FAR AS I CAN REMEMBER THE NEXT NEW ATTRACTION IS 2005 AND THATS CINEMAGIQUE FROM PARIS.
