In this thread, complain about Christmas music in the parks

I tend to agree with the OP. I remember the first time I went to WDW during Christmas season, the Christmas music playing broke my heart. I guess I was looking forward to hearning the Normal Walk around Music I was used to hearing and I really missed it. I expected to hear Christmas music at night in Hollywood studios in the Osborne Lights area and on Main street during the Night time Christmas Parade but I didn't like hearing it in every park all the time every day. Perhaps thats the answer. Maybe they should play the Christmas music at night and/or all day during the week before Christmas and on Christmas day, and play the normal Back ground music during the day. That would definitely work for me.

If you come to Disney World during the Holidays (you are typically only coming once, at least that is true, for most of us); the music of the season is just appropriate when the decorations are up. If you are fortunate to be able to visit Disney multiple times during the Holiday Season, well then, you are certainly fortunate to be able to do that too; so it is just simple to acquiesce to the many (especially as the music is arguably unobtrusive to begin with).

I think alternating it during the day makes the most sense.

I also think they should change up the wake up call in the resorts. I'm really getting tired of Stitch yelling, "Wake up sleepyhead!" every morning. You'd think with all their tech, they could have a rotation of messages based on the days of the week, or something. Yoda on Monday. Goofy on Tuesday. Merida on Wednesday. The Avengers on Thursday. Timon and Pumba on Friday. Mickey on Saturday. And the Fairy Godmother on Sunday. But I suppose that's a whole different subject.

Most everyone is all in on the Christmas music at all the parks, but wait until "Christmas Shoes" comes on and you have no way to escape!

Worst. Christmas. Song. Ever. I can't even put into words how much I hate that song. It makes me feel stabby and when it comes on the radio, I can't switch the station quickly enough. It's such a cloying, manipulative and contrived song.

Personally, I wish they would alternate. I love the music of Future World. Unfortunately, I will not hear it when we go in 18 days. I wish they would alternate between the two: Christmas for half an hour, and then Epcot music for half an hour.

This idea makes a lot of sense................we love the Christmas and Disney music:)

Eh, I'd probably put Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime" ahead of that. I love Christmas music, and hearing that song makes me want to kick puppies and steal candy from children.

YES. Captain America- "Good morning, citizen! Time to ASSEMBLE!"
Hulk- "STOP SLEEP, PUNY HUMAN! TIME FOR SMASH!"
Thor- "Snooze? I say thee NAY!"

I love Christmas music in the parks...though I feel it drags on a bit too long in January. Can we play this?

I LOVE it - I want one...Dare I add to it???

Rapunzel - "Rise and shine...Time to brush your HAIR !!!"
Sleeping Beauty - "I think Prince Charming must have gotten LOST - But still...time to AWAKE!! "
Cinderella - " I am awfully sleepy after the BALL. Oh, and has anyone seen my other shoe?? "
Snow White - " Good Morning all my little dwarves. How about Applesauce with Breakfast ??!

Random thought . . . just wondering if there might be a subliminal marketing theme going on here as well, with the continual Christmas music playing. A musical loop of Christmas favorites may help to keep the park guests in the holiday spirit which, in turn, may invite thoughts of buying Christmas gifts—in the Disney gift shops?! ;)

Yep...indeed.
Oldest retail marking trick ever.

Call me crazy but people go to Disney World from all over the world.
They may go only once to Walt Disney World and never go back.

I think it is more important for these guests to get the maximum Disney experience, than catering to some people with a annual pass that go every weekend because they can and they are local.

The first time guests, the guests that travel to Walt Disney World are not going to be sick of 4 or 5 days of holiday music.

Note I believe (maybe wrong) even Walt Disney World calls the music Holiday Music.
This is the 21th Century politically correct left made the term Christmas music a bad thing.

Many religions celebrate Holidays this time of year.

Actually, it's Magical Winter Music. Holiday is no longer PC due to its closeness to holy day, which is obscene and offensive.

This is why WDW doesn't really have many holiday overlays on their attractions, because people will complain that for 2 months out of the year it will be Christmas overkill , for 2 other months it will be closed, and the other 8 months normal.

I don't mind there being so much Christmas music, but I do think that it could be themed a little more appropriately.

DL is the area that caters to the APs who go every weekend. A lot of Florida locals don't like WDW unless they are from another state originally. I would say that the majority of APs are like my family; they come down for a week or more a few times a year or they do a large block, in which case getting an AP is actually cheaper.

I don't celebrate Christmas. I don't mind that people do, and I just don't say anything. However, I get very sick of Christmas music. Here and there, yeah fine, I'll ignore it. I understand most people in this country celebrate Christmas and enjoy the music. But over and over and over again...it's one reason I don't go to WDW over December. My next trip I assume they will be playing Christmas music for the first few days, but after that, I'd like to go for a Christmas music-free trip.
