Hey guys...I was just wondering are Imagineers allowed to give out info that Disney has not made public yet? I ask this because I was on another website reading some posts and there was this guy claiming he was an imagineer and he posted all kinds of stuff from a supposed fifth park, to all kinds of new stuff for mgm/epcot. He said Disney allows them to talk about this stuff publicly. I dont want to post his comments on here because I dont know if I am allowed to do that. He also told everyone on there his name. Is there a way to look up Imagineers and see for real if he is a real one? If anyone wants more info you can pm me...thanks Matt

I agree with everyone that this is very, very doubtful. My oldest sister is in Imagineering in California and I can vouch for her and the rest that they are not allowed to speak of projects unless they have been made public. Even then they stay pretty close lipped.

Now my sister will kind of bait me and ask my opinion on different attractions to see what my reaction will be....kind of as Walt did when he was still alive...but that is more to get an initial reaction.

I would be interested in seeing the post as well as getting a name and I could help verify for you.

Like everyone has said Imagineers can't speak about what WDI has in the works. They sign an agreement form when they're hired. When I went to WDI in the summer of 2005 i had to sign an agreement form that said I wouldn't talk about what I might see on the grounds. I was told that when the stuff is open to the public I could talk about it but not until then. I got to see Disneylands Monsters Inc. ride being worked on, I saw the yeti and i saw Tokyo's TOT elevator car that they where working on. Now it's true that some Imagineers do float in and out of different message boards. Tony Baxter told me that some of the past interns over the years at WDI would go to these sites to steal ideas when they where asked to come up with new projects to bring to the table. I thought that was rather interesting.

I was at WDW 3 weeks ago and did the dinner with an imagineer...I asked a few questions i knew he couldn't answer just to see his facial expressions. However he did tell us somethings that WDI had in the works. Nothing in detail, all pretty vague. You'll find that Imagineers love to speak in riddle.
If you wanna know more about my dinner with an imagineer it's on the forum in the Imagineer section.

The most you generally get from an Imagineer, and this when confronting them with a direct question, is "I can neither confirm or deny this or that." And they usually say it with a smile. (and I kind of like it that way)

Perhaps it was "Those who know don't speak and those who speak don't know"?
