or a Swiss Alps bobsled type ride. obviously that require the addition of a whole new pavilion...but wishful thinking i supopse

In all honesty, it's probably just as well that the Matterhorn doesn't exist at WDW. There's already Everest for that at the Animal Kingdom.

Anyway, next time, I'm going back to the Magic Kingdom to tie up some loose ends.

In a previous post (http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/...new-mk-and-epcot-for-you.864107/#post-5479249), I had mentioned some improvements I would have made to Pirates of the Caribbean. And now I have a few more additions to make.

At the beginning, just after departing the load area, where the Davy Jones waterfall used to be (it's still there, but it's relocated), a new spot is shown featuring a pirate named Honest Pete. He wears a long coat, which he continuously opens up, alternating between left and right. On his left, he reveals his wares: rings, necklaces, gold pins, and earrings, all of which he tries to hock to guests floating past in the boat. On his right, he has a map to the treasure where he found it and where the guests can find it. "Follow the X to the map, mateys!" he says. "Better hope ye find it afore Cap'n Jack Sparrow does!"

Then, in the auction scene, there's a brand-new minor addition. This will help make it different from the ride at Disneyland. This addition is of something that was considered early on but ultimately nixed. An early draft of the ride script called for, in addition to the pirates "wanting the redhead", a pair of heckler pirates who knew they had no chance with the redhead. Instead, they tried to put her down with such zingers as "Her father's the tax collector," or "Her mother sings opera," or "She smokes cigars," or "But she don't drink." This is all mentioned in the book on the ride by Jason Surrell. These two heckler pirates, and Honest Pete, are now in the ride at WDW.

What are your thoughts on this?

Just to make it different right now, I'm thinking, at least temporarily, of redoing the Country Bear show to the Vacation Hoedown version of the show that was used from 1986 to about 1992 at WDW (and used for the rest of that show's run at Disneyland until its 2001 closure).

That was actually the reason I brought up the thread on the original show's cuts: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/country-bear-changes.886522/. I'm trying to figure how to trim that show's run, but I'm not sure how to do that.

Here's an idea I've had for another E-ticket ride at the Magic Kingdom. It's a variation on Fire Mountain, but it will not be a flying roller coaster. It will be a conventional roller coaster instead, and it will have a new name, Mount Pele, named after the goddess of fire and volcanoes, one of the many Tiki gods and goddesses at Disneyland's Tiki Room...

PELE: I am Pele, goddess of fire and volcanoes. Some say I torment poor Ngendi, the earth balancer, for when my violent temper rises, the earth trembles on its foundation!

NGENDI: Legends say I'm balancing the earth. But sad to say, I'm just hanging on.

PELE: I'm the one who's really sad, for when I smile, it comes out MAD!

Anyway, I guess the idea is to escape before Pele gets mad again. Any ideas?

I like that, and I have also been thinking for a while now that Adventureland would be cool with a volcano on that unused plot back there. Of course, a lot of buildings would have to be re-worked but I'm not going to worry about that now. Its a great concept that I think would be great expanded apon, maybe with some animatronics, or a story (which is one of the things that SM and BTMR lack- a clear story to make it more of an adventure)

I've been thinking about this Frozen craze, and I thought of a way to get involved with it. It will involve another overlay of another attraction. Before you freak out over it, however, this is just a holiday season overlay, meaning it will be normal the rest of the year.

Anyway, my idea for the overlay is to put Frozen characters in the Tiki Room. However, this applies only to the WDW Tiki Room (at least for the time being), not the Disneyland one. Why is that, you say? Well, Disneyland has had holiday overlays for no less than FOUR attractions (Country Bears, Small World, Haunted Mansion and now Jungle Cruise), and I honestly think that we should give this to Walt Disney World instead, which has had only half the amount of overlays (Country Bears, which I don't even think does holiday shows anymore, and Jungle Cruise). So I think we should go with that and give WDW's Magic Kingdom a holiday shot in the arm.

Anyway, in terms of Frozen, the main character for this show is going to be Olaf the snowman. Elsa makes a brief appearance as well. Here's the basic outline of it:

-Preshow with Clyde and Claude replaced with Olaf and Barker Bird competing for attention. Barker Bird is made to look somewhat obnoxious in contrast to Olaf who's happy-go-lucky and friendly
-After a quick rendition of the Tiki Room song, the opening song transitions into "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" in which Olaf appears
-Olaf sings a showstopping rendition of "In Summer"
-An original song about holidays around the world with one verse for each of the four main birds
-"Winter War Chant" sung by the Tikis and Totems
-Finale with the goddess of winter making a blizzard and Elsa appearing from above the fountain area and making it snow inside the building.
-"What's This!" as the exit song replacing Heigh-Ho

And I even have an idea for the first part of the script:

It opens the same as the New Management show did, with the main emcees waking up and then singing "In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room" before Olaf, in this case, suddenly shows up...

CAST MEMBER: And now I'd like to introduce you to our master of ceremonies, Jose. (pause) Jose's asleep, so on the count of three, everybody say, "Wake up, Jose!" One, two, three...

GUESTS IN AUDIENCE: Wake up, Jose!

JOSE: (yawns) My siestas are getting shorter and shorter. Oh, look at all the people! Hey, Michael, mi amigo, pay attention, it's showtime!

MICHAEL: So it is. Pierre, you rascal you, let's put on the show.

PIERRE: Mon ami, I am always ready, as you say, to put on ze show. As is my good friend, Fritz.

FRITZ: Ach du lieber! I almost fell out of mein noble perch. Glad to have you all aboard. Mein gutness, you're all shtaring at us! Ve better start the show running!

MICHAEL: Wait, wait! We forgot to wake up the glee club.

(whistle sounds; birds come to life and make their usual racket)

JOSE: Ole! Ole! It's showtime!

EMCEES:
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room,
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room,
All the birds sing words and the flowers croon,
In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room.

JOSE:
Welcome to our tropical hideaway,
You lucky people you.
If we weren't in the show starting away,
We'd be in the audience, too.

And right around this time, snow starts inexplicably falling in the center of the room while the birds perform their theme song, while the sound of jingle bells starts playing during the song as this happens. They notice this and then stop singing as they try to figure out what's going on. Maybe then that's when they hear "Do You Want To Build a Snowman" as Olaf appears. It's sort of like with Iago's interrupting their song with his rendition of "Friend Like Me", but it should somehow be less jarring and, dare I say it, rude.

I had actually gotten involved with this kind of a project on another thread. What are your thoughts on my way of including Frozen in a way that's only a holiday overlay and not permanent?

And right around this time, snow starts falling outside the windows and everyone's singing trails off as they wonder what's going on. And then Olaf appears! Incidentally, it's about the same time that Iago disrupts the show, but here, it's to be made less intrusive and abrupt.

I feel Frozen should never ever mix with anything in Adventureland. Next Thing does the Tiki Room have the queue needed to support a Frozen Overlay? And if not then how would the extended queue work? I like that it isn't permanent, but my biggest concern might be the theming clashes. Overall I like the basis of the show, but it does not fit into Adventureland if it were in another part of the park then maybe.

A Frozen overlay in MK is a tricky one. I agree that the theme clashes a little too much, and I didn't even consider capacity, but I'm trying to think of where else. It's a musical show, which is basically what you ant in a Frozen attraction, and the writing is pretty good. However, it is just a little awkward there.

Other Locations Cinderella Castle Stage, Maybe Phillarmagic not sure entirely how it would work there, I think that's it..

Yah, I don't think a 3-D show could work without replacing the whole footage.

Actually, aren't they doing some sort of Cinderella Castle frozen overlay?:hungover::p

At Epcot, I may have been ok with suggesting Maelstrom, but NOOOO....

But at MK, still not quite sure. Hall of Presidents?

Wouldn't work at Hall of Presidents at all as that is realistic.

Frozen only took over for Lighting of the Castle.\

In MK I think the only place to hold that kind of crowd will be the Castle Stage unless they redid the whole entire Phillarmagic Film, but that likely won't happen.

Well, there is one moment in Frozen where Olaf sings "In Summer". Perhaps it could be an outgrowth of that. I admit it's not the best place in the world, but it can work if done right. Like I said, there was an Imagineering team project on another site that did this whole thing. I was a part of that team. This wasn't even my original idea.

I'm going to deviate from the usual stuff of Magic Kingdom and Epcot updates and provide an idea for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party: namely, new costume ideas for the Fab Five. It's based on the Halloween cartoons from the website Homestar Runner, in which the main characters (twelve in all) all dress up in different costumes, usually of pop icons and celebrities. You can look it up here: http://www.hrwiki.org/wiki/Halloween_Costumes.

My idea is based on that idea, but in this case, Mickey and the gang all dress as other Disney characters. A couple of ideas: Minnie could be dressed as, say, Snow White, and Donald is dressed as Winnie the Pooh.

What do you think of that idea?
