So, can I suggest a Humphrey the Bear comedic scene? Or maybe Humphrey can pop up in multiple scenes, being stuck in a hole, a tree, a tent, etc.

Ok cool...I can propose one or two scenes...and maybe do some art...but I can't promise as I am on a laptop, and don't have access to my scanner.

I will have the art for the map for sure...that will be done as soon as flat ride and play area are established...and I'll show you where I think we should put them, and you can confirm it's good, or tell me to move something!

Here is the map (version 1)
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/picture.php?albumid=979&pictureid=13817

I wanted to get this done quick, because I might have no computer or internet tomorrow...or I might be traveling to the next state to see my mom for Mother's Day...

Sorry it's sideways...had to take a photo, and there's no programs in this laptop for altering photos! (Grrrrrrrrrr)

so...this is not the final one...unless you guys love what I did...I can change it...if you have other ideas!

I kept the restrooms and character trail meet and greets.

the quick service is at the bottom...

I made the waterway bigger, to encompass the canoe ride and to go around figmntal's ride, and to have some water in the play area.

Goofy's fishing trip ride(are you still going with that Figmntal?) and Mickey's canoe adventure (feel free to change the name!) replace the area that used to be legend of the lion king...the entrances share a walkway area, and have covered queues.

I put one gift shop near the arts n crafts pavillion at the top of the area, and one gift shop at the exit to the canoe ride.

YOU CAN CHANGE THIS is you don't like the placement...I just thought that made sense, but I also don't know what themes your shops are going to be Fractal!

Forest friends play area is mapped out with trails and trees...a cave, a waterfall, and a couple little pavillions to sort of encompass your ideas Vacationer...if you need me to change/add or omit something let me know!

also...you can change the name...

I did the map with acrylic so it can be easily altered and painted over

let me know what you guys think!

Mickey's Canoe Trip

Many of the activities at Camp Minnie-Mickey are quite popular: Water Skiing with Counselor Goofy, Uncle Scrooges Treasure Hunts, Pluto's Ultimate Frisbee... But none are quite as popular as Camp Director Mickey's canoe rides. Campers take a journey on the Cheekimunkee River and enjoy the sights and sounds of Camp Minnie-Mickey's other offerings.

As campers journey on the river, they eventually reach a fork, at which point they must choose left or right by pressing a button in the canoe. The left fork, which is labeled "Calm" takes guests on a safe and sound quick loop back to the starting point. More adventurous guests who choose the right or "Rapids" fork will be taken on a slightly more active journey complete with several "log flume" style drops.

Thoughts?

If you don't mind, I'd like to do Backstory on this one, since you got to do backstory on the other ride. But why don't we each do a scene from the ride?

Let's each make a scene and then we can put them all together.

I'm going to do the "Rapids" Section of the track... That is, if we're all agreed about having the dual ending, in letting guests choose to do the drop or not.

I guess for me, it's about having something that is simultaneously appealing to those who want a thrill like splash mountain, but who can only do tamer rides like Small World.

Thouhts?

Just so you know, my idea about the rapids section is that this would be where you enter a cave and meet up with Scrooge, who is speleunking, looking for treasure, this would lead to you getting caught into the conveyor belt he's rigged to haul the treasure out, and then the big drop which would lead into a long loop that ties back into the original.

I love your ideas Fractal!

I like the choose your own ending...but it seems overly complicated for small kids. I think mild rapids can be a great thrill for little kids...we just can't make them too thrilling, or we wind up with an E ticket rather than the D ticket attraction we are suppose to be doing!

If we don't tell them a rapids is coming at the end, then we don't have the panic of some small child being too scared...screaming their lungs off because they didn't push the button in time, or because their older sister did first.

We have to remember that first and foremost this is the little kids area. I think thrills are great if they are Goofy's Barnstormer level...but not "No Expectant Mothers" level.
That's just me though...

I like the Scrooge spelunking idea a lot! What a fun visual.

My ideas for scenes are..

Donald and his nephews are putting up a tent. Or trying too! As you approach you hear his nephews asking "what's wrong unca Donald?" and you spy them first along the bank...standing next to this mostly collapsed tent that's moving around like it's alive!.
You hear...rather than see...Donald who is of course the one inside the tent, swearing in that incomprehensible string of syllables that he does so well.
Once you pass the tent, you can see the skunk, winking at us, and just raising his tail in the opening.

My other idea is that we see Minnie spreading out a picnic lunch, she's turned towards us, away from the spread and taking a large layer cake from a picnic basket exclaiming "Won't this be a delightful surprise for Mickey!" and as you pass by her you now get a glimpse of chip, dale and about 30 squirrels all waiting eagerly on the picnic blanket.

That's kind of how I see the characters, and the scenes with animals.

I think Figmntal's idea for Humphrey is great too!

Fractal, you can do the backstory... You kinda already did it anyway.

If we each get to do a scene, I'll do my Humphrey the Bear scene (or scenes) in addition to the script.

well, I'm travelling tomorrow, but I will have the world's slowest dial up computer to work on friday night and hopefully Sat too...good news is that there will be a scanner there.

Do you guys want me to change anything on the map...move the gift shops around? anything?

OK, I think I got it now...

Scene List (Current):

-Scrooge Spe-Lunking Scene
-Donald/Nephews Tent Scene
-Minnie Picnic Scene
-Humphrey the Bear Scenes
-Some Scene with Goofy waterskiing (and Max Driving the boat)
-Something with Daisy?
-Obviously a Mickey scene.... that could be the end.
-Maybe a scene in which Pete is trying to run something?
-Do you think Ludwig von Drake could somehow be worked into the ride?

Just my thoughts on scenes.

I'll compile all the scenes in with the script (makes it easier for everyone), kinda making a full write up of the attraction.

Then, we'll just add in artwork, Special Effects and AA's, etc.

So, I guess I'll just stick with the scenes we currently have, and throw in some suprises.
