Hey teams,

I think we might want to start with the D ticket and then more into our separate aspects. We need to make sure the whole thing fits together.

I will be out of the loop today, I'm off to MC and Host a Family Kids Day at a local Mall, then run a rehearsal for a middle school production of Once Upon a Mattress, then closing night as Billy Bigelow in Carousel and cast party, then strike tomorrow morning. I will be on tomorrow night and looking to really brainstorm.

Seeya all then!

My suggestions were:

-A Goofy Movie Water Ride
-TailSpin Attraction
-Mickey and Pals Adirondack Canoeing Adventure
-Chip n' Dale's Rescue Rangers Attraction
-Humphrey the Bear Ride

Ha ha! Your schedule sounds like mine Fractal! Yesterday I did a six hour stint volunteering for a publicTV auction, Renaissance faire rehearsals, a sword fight demo, and today I am doing tarot readings for an event!

I will help in doing the map. I am trying to find a nice existing map (other than the one that comes in the brochure) and I can't find a good one.

I figure I can paint it with acrylic, and then just paint in each piece as we figure out what it is.

I like some of your general ideas, Figmntal. I worry about tying them directly to the tv shows, because I feel that many of them are not readily available or current to today's kids.(even with them on DVD)

Movies seem to have more lasting appeal.

But I do like the ideas you have of the characters.
Chip n Dale are always going to be popular...I mean they are in every other character dining place.

and the Fab Five will always be a great place to start! We can do Goofy Camping without the need for Max, or that particular movie, because there are enough short cartoons that mirror the oputdoors theme.

I will try and be back this evening with more brainstorming.

I'm sort of leaning towards the river ride idea (canoe excursion or rafting thing) But more friendly jungle cruise than kali river rapids...as this is supposed to really be THE kid's area.

I also know from the early halloween overlay project how difficult it is to do a good outdoor attraction with AA's.

I sort of had this spelunking cave-thing pop in my head just now.

maybe a short little D level (Mr. Toad style) dark ride exploration through a cave with Donald and his nephews?

That sounds good... I'm trying to steer away from Goofy on this project (my flat ride is based on Goofy) so that could work.

I know that there was a speelunking adventure at Six Flags Over Texas years ago... with little creatures doing mining activities and stuff like that.

Maybe we could do something like that. That ride was actually kinda a water ride a la Pirates or Small world, but a dark ride could work.

I was just told there aren't really caves in the adirondacs...but then why are there so many bears? :D

I like Donald because he's got great comic appeal...and his nephews because they are adventurous.
I can picture colored crystals and stalagtite, bats... as some slightly dark elements and maybe a comic bear encounter...but really a fast moving kiddie ride...maybe along toad or DL's pinocchio.

My other thought was pocahontus canoe ride...part dark ride (follow the swirling leaf effects!) part outdoor ride, and full of animals and environments that are kid friendly and warm and fuzzy.

If you like the bear thing, then lets go with a Humphrey the Bear attraction. I think that'd be hilarious.

The only problem with a Pochahantas ride is that it's already been done! In the first Imagineer game, one of the teams did it as a Animal Kingdom E-Ticket project. We got to be original.

Sorry for not being here! I was gone Friday from 6:30 AM-9:30 PM,and had a sport filled Saturday! I'm here though!

I'm on board for the Mickey canoeing adventure or Humphrey the Bear ride!

How's about a canoe ride through The Camping Ground of Camp Minnie-Mickey, and along the way there could be scenes, such as Donald trying to put a tent up with his nephews, maybe pluto chasing chip and dale around a scene, Mickey cooking on a grille, who knows, we could do a lot of things with it.

That sounds like a cute idea!

I like it! I do think we have to remember to include an animal in every scene
(I can see Donald... and a skunk!) simply because it's the Great Outdoors...and it's animal kingdom...so we have to have some friendly animal encounters...

Maybe we can include Humphrey in a scene as well!

And I still think it might be neat if part of the ride went through a cave.
(Cave=indoors/ better AA's. Otherwise they have the air system, and really only one movement.)

so I finally found a decent map to copy.
Looks like we are going to take out the Legend of Lion King stadium, and use that area (and well as below it and above it) for the two rides.

I just realized, that all the times I have been there...I never actually went to this area.

We could use creative ways to block the AA's from rain and the elements (tents, rock facings, trees).

well...it's not really an E ticket...so we don't have to have the best and most advanced effects. but I do like the idea of the creative use of trees and rocks!

Loving this! Let me know if there is anything I can do!

A few things.....

The play area-I was thinking the canoes could wind it's way through it....
I know Chrony has not officially said yes,but we were hoping to have live animals in the play area. We could do this here too,and keep them conatained like in the KS.

What do you think? Let me know what I can do.

Fig... Don't start on this one, it's supposed to be Chrony and I, and I don't want to get eliminated because there was nothing left for me to do, besides bud, you already got the ride in our teams :-)

Chrony and I will do this ride.

That's kinda what I thought as well...that the team leaders were in charge of this attraction.

Vacationer...I think the other movie tie ins with animals are good, but should be the play area...mixing Mickey and pals with the other forest characters may get a tad too overwhelming. And I do like the idea of the other movies, but they deserve their own area!

I have a few ideas for scenes...that I can run past you Fractal...overall story I can see is the idea of Mickey and the gang camping in the Great Outdoors, and the comical scenes that come from the fact that the Outdoors is alive with critters that were there first!

As far as the rest of the theming of the place, Summer Camp seems to be the route we are taking with the restaurant and play area.

I thought about the CMs becomming CCs...Camp Councelers in this area...maybe even have a little area with crafts, and activities for toddlers and little kids, like a simulated nature walk through the play area.
