Another pet peeve I have is people pulling out their iPhones/iPads to put on a video for younger kids to watch in queues! Come on, guys, it's Disney! The queues are very entertaining!
There was a post on reddit this week about a person in the front of the Disneyland Space Mountain car getting defensive and irate after having someone tell him to *gasp* not shine a light and basically have a headlight the entire ride. Then, that person's group dogpiled the guy protesting, were also irate, and somehow defended the guy shining a light in Space Mountain, the darkest ride in Disney parks.Ahhh, that would make sense. No wonder I didn't see any - because we are the types that skip the parades and head for the rides. I can't believe anyone would tell you "f" you. That's enough rudeness to ruin your trip!
If this is truly how CM's are trained to deal with today's public of 2016, then it might be time to take a good look around at reality, and update the ole employee handbook.we did speak with CMs on a lot of the dark rides about the flashes. They said it is mentioned to not use them, but they mostly rely on Guest integrity.
I love your avatar so much.If this is truly how CM's are trained to deal with today's public of 2016, then it might be time to take a good look around at reality, and update the ole employee handbook.
He was not. We actually watched to see if a CM would speak with him when we exited the ride. Nothing was done. Nothing was said.
I forgot to mention that we did speak with CMs on a lot of the dark rides about the flashes. They said it is mentioned to not use them, but they mostly rely on Guest integrity. We only heard it mentioned on Nemo. We suggested that they have a visual of no flash photography. It would reinforce the courtesy rule/request to some and help those who may not understand (or wish to understand) English.
Maybe by the 3rd scene when it's quite obvious they're ignoring you and just being selfish? The flexible end of a fishing rod across the back of their necks would help them understand too.
UNI as in Universal?View attachment 157421
Just posted on the UNI. FB site titled "no phones on rollercoaster"
Yes UNI is a shorter way of saying Universal.UNI as in Universal?
Yes SirUNI as in Universal?
You're still wrong to use any type of light up screen in a dark ride, no matter how small. It's annoying. As someone who enjoys recording and photographing rides, and watching other people's footage and photos of said rides, I would hate this incredibly. It's half the fun for me. Mind you, I just use a simply ipod for this. If there was a way to just disable those those honking huge ipads, I wouldn't be against this. A crowd of people photographing with iphones doesn't bother nearly as much as being behind one guy with an ipad
If the patent technology can disable any part of the phone in its proximity then it can easily kill all the light sources, including the backlight in screens. You're still wrong to use any type of light up screen in a dark ride, no matter how small. It's annoying.
Err.... storing your phone and ALL loose items is only required on Hulk, Dragon Challenge, and Rip Ride Rockit. (and it's somewhat overkill)The majority of Big rides have it..

You say overkill . Universal's lawyers say prevention of an ugly lawsuit.Err.... storing your phone and ALL loose items is only required on Hulk, Dragon Challenge, and Rip Ride Rockit. (and it's somewhat overkill)
The rest of the attractions with lockers only require bags to be stored.
I guess every other theme park in the entire world with big roller coasters is doing it wrong, then. You say overkill . Universal's lawyers say prevention of an ugly lawsuit.
2010/2011 they stopped the Dragon challenge from launching at the same time due to 2 accidents involving unsecured items. One involved removing someones eye. Try explaining to that person why stowing your stuff is such an inconvenience .I guess every other theme park in the entire world with big roller coasters is doing it wrong, then.
And now they've shot themselves in the foot and can't ever remove the metal detector procedure.
Yes, I know. And it wasn't unsecured items, it was a rider deliberately throwing stuff at the other train. That's why it went incident free for 12 years and then had these incidents within the span of, what was it? two weeks?2010/2011 they stopped the Dragon challenge from launching at the same time due to 2 accidents involving unsecured items.
