 Another negative thread about Disney!
It's about discussing the good and the bad...it can't be all butterflies and rainbows..If you want all happy back-slapping posts, you should stick to the official Disney blog...where it is heavily edited and no one says anything but praise for how amazing everything is.

There's also disboards.com which, I've found, is generally: "Everything is magical. Isn't Disney magical? Magic is magical!"

It's why I came over to WDW Magic - to get away from the constant, "It's just so magical!," posts.

I'm not necessarily knocking them for the "magical" posts but it's just not my cup of tea.

Except that here it's "everything sux at Disney because...". It gets tiring when we know it isn't true.

Have you considered talking to a professional about your issues with the broken fridge? It seems to have caused you great trauma:

Wow, is that "broken fridge" poster fixated much?? Not that i think for a minute that the state of affairs is good customer service , but 'dahy-ahm' - I have had tires that I haven't gotten that much mileage out of !!

This is so true. I have to work with these young people and they will come right out and say that they don't want to work and are just here for the money!? They come in and tell the managers what and how they are going to do things. It is unbelievable. And these jobs are a dime a dozen where I live so they just go off to the next place. Especially now that their bad behavior does not follow them because when the new place calls to verify employment you cant tell them how bad the employee was. I have had young girls with kids (all from different baby daddies) come in to work for a few months, decide working is not for them and say "I'm going to get pregnant again so I don't have to work". The worst are the parents that come in and yell at management if they dare say anything to correct their child's bad work habits. I don't know how the world is going to function with these idiots running it in a few years. Have you all seen the movie Idiocrocy? This is what we are turning into.

Man - I would be so tempted to ask the parent if they were willing to do the kids job - since the kid left the company in the lurch. But then I have known for awhile now that I should NOT be in Human Resources. I know my weaknesses... too much pepper in this little pot !! I am truly scared that these will be the folks making the management decisions when I am at the retirement home age. "No applesauce for you!!"
Here we come "Soylent Green" !!

When you pay 4 figures per NIGHT for a room and it is not PERFECT yeah people tend to fixate on that experience especially when the response is 'what do you expect ME to do about it' from the front desk if it had been fixed in a hour or so without me needing to babysit the process I would not have given it another thought as machines break it's a fact of life. But having to FIGHT for 8 hours to get it fixed in Disney's top room class in one of their premier resorts makes the experience memorable for all the wrong reasons.

I travel for business and REAL hotels fix issues like this in minutes not hours and without the need for multiple calls and visits to front desk and usually with a smile. A good example I was in a suite in the Hilton at College Station TX, The robes were missing on check in, Called the front desk to tell them mainly because I did not want to be charged for them when I checked out I had a new set in 15 minutes that stands out as an example of great customer service.

No it's not that things are occasionally not perfect hell the world is a imperfect place. But it's what you do AFTER the failure that counts and Today's Disney fails over and over these days on issues both large and small that affect the guest experience.

With how Disney is behaving towards guests these days is it all that surprising?, What's simply amazing in a bad way are all the newcomers to the board posting about their less than MAGICal experiences at Disney stuff like that is not what ANY of us here really want to see.

You're exaggerating and it's quite ridiculous to say that. And guess what, holmes, where there's smoke there's fire. If there are mounting negative posts then there must be a reason. Surely we're not all conspiring to give Disney a bad name on a site where 3-5% of the overall Disney going population will see it. If you don't want to see anything negative about "your precious" then you might as well stay off of social media all together. I'm one of Disney's biggest fans. Heck, even with the complaining we've done we're still going back in September, albeit our last planned trip for a few years. But we're not naive enough to think that there's nothing wrong with the place where dreams come true. You know darn well as everyone else here that what they show on commercials is a far cry from reality.

The reason I said that it gets tiring is that people like you bring up the exact same issue in 30 different threads, no matter what the original thread started out discussing. The fact that exploder brings up his fridge issue in almost every single thread lately is an example of that. Oh, and he didn't pay 4 figures per night for his room. He's a DVC member that was staying on points, not paying cash. And I also believe that his attitude here (very confrontational) is exactly what his attitude is towards everyone, so I wouldn't be willing to go above and beyond for him either, and the CMs recognize that.

I'm not sure what you mean about the commercials. Are you talking about stormtroopers coming out of the elevator at the Grand Floridian? I think anyone in their right mind would know that really doesn't happen. What else are you talking about? The commercials we see here do accurately portray what you can do there.

know? believe would be more accurate since the topic is so subjective. surely?
OK, I'll give you that one, since we simply don't experience the issues that some here have. I completely agree that some people have issues when they are at WDW, but I guess we are just lucky that we don't.

I dont either, but that doesnt mean pooh doesnt happen. Its entirely plausible if an employee isfeeling undervalued for whatever reason real or imagined they may not always be a shining beacon of corporate culture, or they or the moan ee just be twats, and its mutually assured biffa time.

hough I should say the my stay at the HRH in San Diego was one of the poorest experiences Ive had world wide in a hotel. And that was staff who quite clearly had an attitude towards each other and guests.

People like me? I'm sorry, could you link the 50 repetitious threads that I've posted? I can see that you are one of those who belong on the DIS boards. Over there it's illegal to speak ill of the Mouse's House. Over here we have a swig of reality with our daily Kool-Aid.

Everyone here knows that you are down on Disney a lot on the boards. I don't drink the kool-aid at all. Just because my experiences have been better than others, doesn't mean that it's the end all be all for everything. I have no problem with people relating a bad experience, but whenever someone posts that they had a great trip or a great experience, way too many slam them and say that they are pixie dust snorting addicts that only look through rose colored glasses while drinking the kool-aid.

I am certainly not going to waste my time to repost or search for your negative attitudes. We all know how you feel.

Everyone here knows that I speak the truth, good or bad. You don't drink the Kool-Aid, you inhale it. If you can't handle the truth that some of us DO have negative experiences and feel that the current product isn't befitting of the Disney brand name then you need to go curl up in the corner and get in touch with your feelings.

Son, looking at your picture, I have been going there since before you were born. I know EXACTLY what the experience has been. For us, it is still awesome. Sorry that it isn't for you. Please stop going then, and you won't have to post about your bad experiences anymore.

And if you actually read my post, you would see that I completely acknowledge that some people have negative experiences. We just don't need to hear about the same incident in every thread. Move along and GET OVER IT.
