When in April are you looking to go? One thing to remember is that Easter and Spring breaks fall the beginning of April in 2012 so crowds will be heavy then.

avoid easter week. avoid the allstar resorts and cbr the last weekend of april (fri-sun) allstar worlds is that weekend and that's where they house them. they're waaaaayyy better than the pop warner kids in december because of the long hours they keep but it makes the food court sooooo busy in the morning.

If you are interested in planning around Easter, Easter is April 8 next year. We're leaving April 9 for WDW and plan to spend the first two nights (April 10 and 11) at the Nickelodean Suites, then 5 nights at the Poly and 5 nights at the Beach Club.

So the one other thing you'll need to know about April 2012 is that, as long as you don't prolong my wait times, or slow me down in any way, you'll be fine. :D:p

I was there in April of this past year (2011) during Easter, and the crowds were not as bad as everyone on here makes them out to be. I'm not saying it was light, but it was not as crazy as I was imagining after reading things on here.

Easter week 2009 (which also was the first full week of April) was crazy crowded. Early afternoon wait times in Epcot were over over 2+ hours for Soarin', Test Track and Mission Space. (We just laughed...nothing is worth that kind of wait!) The Magic Kindgom was closed due to capacity limits three days that week (resort guests arriving on Disney transport were admitted.)

Easter week 2010 (still the first week of April, but Easter was the first Sunday rather than the second) wasn't as crowded as previous year but was still VERY BUSY. Many southern school systems always have the first week of April off for spring break, so when Easter falls during that time (when other schools are out for Easter) the parks will be full.

Bottom line...get an early start each day and utilize fastpass. And if you are mentally prepared for large crowds and are patient, you will enjoy your vacation more.

According to my calendar here, Ash Wenesday 2012 is 2/22/12 and Easter Sunday is 4/8/12. After enduring the heat there about a month ago, we'd rather go before or after Easter/Spring Break.

Can anyone give me a clue as to when the Spring Break crowds might taper off in 2012? Is it a full week after Easter? Two?

Going prio to Easter really isn't an option for us as my Father-in-Law is a Priest and cannot take time off until after Easter.

Thanks-
Dave

Just look at the blackout periods for Florida resident season passes....then DO NOT go during those peak season dates.

January 1-2
March 31 - April 12
June 11 - August 18
December 18-31
