When we were there in April, there was a bounceback offer, but it had to be booked before we checked out. That was my understanding of how bouncebacks worked...that it is not an offer that you get after you get back home, but rather, an offer that you get before you leave your current trip.
Having said that, I seem to notice that Disney is constantly giving discounts lately, so, for all practical purposes, you'll probably get a de facto "bounceback" discount. For example, when we were there in
April, the bounceback offer was for a percentage off on the room (25% for values, 30% for moderates and 35% for Deluxes, or something close to that). I was initially told that I could book the bounceback code for a ficitious stay while waiting for 2011 rates to come out in August. Then, in August when I change the dates over to our 2011 dates, the bounceback code would still hold and I would get the discount. I later found out that I was given incorrect information and that bounceback codes are only good for select dates in the current calendar year. So I downgraded from the Wilderness Lodge (where I wanted to stay if I could get the bounceback), to Carribbean Beach. But sure enough, a round of discounts came out later, but none of them included the dates we are going (April). But then a little while later, more discounts came out, which DID include our dates, and it was essentially the exact same discount that I initially booked under, so I then upgraded back to the Wilderness Lodge.
So the moral of my story is that it seems like Disney is constantly "discounting" their rooms. In my perception, it's kind of like these business that raise their prices, only to lower them back down so they can say their stuff is "on sale". Disney releases their prices for the year in August, but then they are constantly giving these discounts so that no matter when you go (except certain uber busy times of the year), you're paying less than the official advertised room rate. While I certainly don't complain about paying the cheaper price, I can't help finding the practice somewhat dishonest, even though I know it is common business practice.
So I guess what I am trying to tell you is that if recent practices are any indicator, I can almost guarantee you that you will end up seeing some kind of a discount for whatever your travel dates are (unless you're going Easter Week, Christmas week, or some other peak holiday time), and that said discount will be pretty much identical to whatever bounceback offer you're missing out on.
