I'm Over It

I know it's beating a dead horse here, but I am so tired of Frozen. It was a good movie. Not a great movie, IMHO. I'm still not sure why it got as much attention as it did - the music maybe?? Whatever the reason, I am done with it taking over everything. It took over HS, which was a terrible idea because in no way, shape, or form does the theme of Frozen even kind of fit the theme of HS (well, to the extent HS still has a theme; but that's an entirely different rant for an entirely different day). It's taking over Norway, which absolutely drives me crazy. I am okay with princesses in the countries because it does add something for the kids to the WS, sure. But, to overhaul the Norway ride with Frozen? Really?!? The M&G completely ruined park opening for MK, and now the Christmas show at MK is going down the toilet. Beyond just the parks, it's all over the stores with the Halloween costumes and blankets and crap, and all of those annoying YouTube videos of people singing the songs which filled up my Facebook feed for months; and now it took over my show Once Upon a Time --is there no escaping it?!?!?!
I agree. Now I will admit I'm the first one to sing along when a song comes on. But it saddens me to see the traditional Disney stuff taken over by Frozen - like you said, the Norway ride. I definitely think there should be Frozen stuff at Disney, just that it shouldn't take over....

It's already in the plans. They have decided Olaf and the gang will be visiting Canada. They are already working on the park tie-ins.
More Frozen in World Showcase??? Really?

Well... besides replacing Maelstrom with a Frozen ride, that is.
If they honestly plan on having two countries in WS with Frozen features, it will truly be a sad day. If that's the case, just drop all pretenses and rename it Toon Showcase, for cryin' out loud; that's where it will be headed. Good gravy, not EVERYTHING has to be about KIDS!!!

Wow, you didn't know that? They are also going to be adding a Frozen attraction to the German pavilion as well. It seems since Germany has a 1% connection with Scandinavia, it would be a perfect fit for Elsa and Anna's royal banquet dinner. So I hope people who liked the Biergarten aren't too upset..

:hilarious:

Actually it does. Since they are the target audience for this theme park. And Disney wants to make sure they keep the kids hooked and coming back for years, they give them stuff they like and will remember so that years down the line they bring their kids, and so it goes....

*sigh* Not this again. No, not everything is about the kids, good sir. Walt Disney intended the parks to be a place the entire family could have fun together; it's not just for the kids. I'm so tired of people subscribing to this idea that WDW is only for the kids, or that WDW should only aim for the kids. And if you think that's how it should be, you're totally missing the point of what the parks were intended to be.

I wholeheartedly agree. I think it's a big mistake to redo Maelstrom as a Frozen ride (if that is in fact what they're doing...which is what it seems like) since by the time it finally opens, all the kids who like it will either have grown up and be "too old" for the movie, or will have moved on to the next movie.

If WDO really wanted to drive more traffic to World Showcase, they should just add rides to the available space in the Germany or Japan pavilion(s).
