I'm Going To Disney world?!

Does anyone knows if the player can refuse to go to WDW for personal reasons? I wonder if a player ever was approached and decided nah, I rather go home.

I would guess that they would just get someone else from the team to do the commercial.

But I think in reality, it is a lot like the "press tour" that actors have to do to promote a movie: it is expected to come with the territory (just like the hometown parade for the winning team -- you could refuse that, too, but I am sure most would not).

Not to my knowledge.

Side tangent. Malcolm Smith signed as many autographs as he could while he was there. Lots of good fan interaction.
The good thing about the MVP not being one of the star players is exactly that. They know fans want to be close to them and they'll make time for everyone. Good for him!

And that was one sweet ride he won, I have a crush on the new Chevy Silverado, it's beautiful!

Johnny wasn't afraid to have guest hosts. In fact, Leno was one of his guest hosts. I liked it better when there were guest hosts for variety, rather than the current policy (which started with Leno's promotion) of no guest hosts (reruns instead).

That's probably because Leno didn't want anyone upstaging him. Granted, when your "comedy" consists of you merely reading a newspaper, that's a low bar to cross.

I always thought the players had a choice of which resort they visited...or that depending on the region the team played in, the resort that's closest was where they'd go.

If I was a Super Bowl MVP, of be pretty upset that I couldn't visit Disneyland over Disney World!

Nope. I believe its a deal with either the NFL itself or NFLPA. Contracts, yo.

I wonder if the players are told before the game - if you can't go to Disney tomorrow let us know now, so we can tell the NFL as you will not be the MVP whether you score 15 TD, we don't care you will not be the MVP lol.

Look, I like Jimmy Fallon just fine, but I also think that this is a mistake for several reasons:
  • The Tonight show, even though it started in New York many years ago, has now become an L.A. tradition and tourist attraction in its own right over its 40 or more years there.
  • L.A. is where the most movie stars live, which is why it moved out there in the first place.
  • Not everything NBC does needs to at 30 Rockefeller Center with SNL alumni. Not only will it be harder to very the guests among Tonight and Late Night with Seth Myers and not to mention The Late Show with David Letterman and Today, but they will all be pulling from the same pool (celebrities coming to New York); whereas with Tonight based in L.A., it made a perfect complement to the others, especially on NBC. Now it will be one long New York SNL-influenced day at NBC.
  • The current Tonight show is still No. 1.
Anyhow, I like Jimmy Fallon, but I think (1) he can still wait, and (2) Tonight should be in L.A.
The simplest response to this: Don't bet against Lorne Michaels.

As much as I like Jay Leno as an everyman (the role that I believe the Tonight show host should play) and congenial host for all ages, I did have that as a criticism. He should have allowed guest hosts, just as he was one. That's how he got the job over Letterman (who followed Johnny Carson each night at 12:30 on Late Night with David Letterman until he was passed over for Leno and then jumped ship to CBS for the 11:30 spot). NBC, I guess, learned then to keep it within the family, and promote the Late Night host (as they did with Conan, and now Fallon).

Still should allow guest hosts. And also should go back to having musical guests in the middle of the show (not the end), and let them have some couch time, as they used to do with Carson and early Leno.

Yes he did book a FP+, but a parade you can only book 2 weeks out. So maybe didn't get the parade but instead got...
Enchanted Tales with Belle! I can just see NFL players in that attraction.
The MVP linebacker as Maurice: "Brrrr! I'm cold!"
